Something a bit different - A zombie film set in the Joseon era of Korea.
SOLD.
It's pretty good and one of at least 3 Korean horror films from 2018 set
in this time period (The others being MONSTRUM and THE WRATH).
Flew Asiana to the UK so saw a load of recent Korean movies.
MONSTRUM was fun - kind of the Korean BROTHERHOOD OF THE WOLF.
FENG SHUI is another Joseon set one. Master Feng Shui practitioner plots revenge on the court officials who murdered his wife and kid. Sadly not by sneaking into their houses and moving chairs in front of doors to block chi flow, but through complicated schemes involving auspicious burial sites for ancestors. Liked this one too.
THE WITCH, PART 1: THE SUBVERSION. No relation to THE VVVITCH, Firestarter -esque young girl escapes government testing facility to try and lead a normal life. First 5 mins is promising, then there's 45 minutes of teenage girls competing on a TV talent show then the last 45 minutes is John Woo-esque violence. Fast forward through the middle.
THE SOUL-MATE. Serves me right for not reading the blurb properly. Does have a ghost but is more K-romcom than K-horror.
