I also caught the annual Simpsons Halloween specials on Sky 1 and caught
up on some episodes of "Stranger Things", "I Zombie" and "Scream"
earlier in the day, so not a total loss, but not really enjoyed myself
this year.

i found the story where homer ate himself rather unpleasant - something
about cannibalism always makes me feel queasy.
Decided rather than flitting between DVD (or indeed BD) movies and what
was on TV, this Halloween I would see what was on Netflix.
A good idea in principal, but usually I pick films I've seen before and
know I'll enjoy. This year, I decided to take a punt on a few films I
thought might be interesting, which turned out to be a huge mistake and
ended up sticking a BD on.
Things started quite well, watched the film "HUSH". Kind of like "You're >Next", but the would be victim is a deaf girl who's fighting off a lone >killer trying to break into her home.
Next I decided to give "1922" a go, which was rather dull. Basically Tom
Jane plays a farmer who decides to kill his wife, after she threatens to >divorce him and sell her half of the property to some developer. Only
for things to go horribly wrong for him soon after.
Then I tried the film "HOLIDAYS", which was an anthology film made up of >several short segments by different directors each one concentrating on
a different holiday season (mothers day, easter, halloween, xmas etc).
Not very entertaining a few interesting ideas in there, but not done
very well and was a bit dissapointing.
After that decided to give my new BD of "THE DEVILS RAIN" a go. Anything
with William Shatner in has got to be creepy and it has Ernest Borgnine
as an evil goat, so what more do you need?
Lastly, ITV 4 were showing "DAWN OF THE DEAD" (2004). Hard to believe
that film is over 13 years old now. OK, not as good as the original, but
a bloody good action movie.
And that was it for Halloween 2017.

I watched The Ghoul (haven't got a clue whether I liked it because I
don't know what the fuck it was about) and some middling paki Babadook
rip off called Under the Shadow. Unfortunately my Flowers dvd didn't
arrive in time. Saving that for this weekend.

Reminds me I meant to post this occasionally interesting list of
suggested Halloween streaming which has both of those.

I thought THE GHOUL was shit. It was an interesting idea, but badly done. >UNDER THE SHADOW wasn't great either. I haven't seen FLOWERS, but the >description makes it sound like it will just be a bunch of women moaning >about stuff.
