    Finally got round to seeing this at the cinema last night

    Bloody brilliant, it's like Band of Brothers vs Re-Animator zombies as a
    group of American Paratroopers, sent to knock out a German radio
    transmitter in occupied France, find the SS doctors have been conducting strange experiments on the French villagers.

    Terrific nazi-zombie fun.

    Managed five minutes of shaky cam found footage (in 1945?!) of FRANKENSTEIN'S ARMY before I gave up and watched THE FOREST. So not only did the film annoy me itself, it then made me watch some other shite. Two strikes.

    This is NOT a Nazi Zombie movie. If I hadn't been expecting one, I'd have probably enjoyed this a lot more than I did. It's a good film, just not the
    one I was hoping for.

    The first half/two-thirds is a solid (if cliche-ridden) WWII film - the
    opening scene is literally awesome and the cinematography throughout is breathtaking. It's not until the last half hour or so that the 'nazi
    zombie' element kicks in, and then it's more of a 'mad nazi scientist
    trying to bring dead soldiers back to life' film. Very little zombie action
    at all. I wouldn't even call them proper fucking zombies.

    I wouldn't mind so much if this wasn't the third zombie-disappointment in a
    row (after WANK-CUT and RINGDOM). Quite concerning.

    8/10 as a film
    4/10 as a Nazi Zombie film

    I didn't like it - I gave it 6/10. I had high hopes for it, but found it hopelessly inconsistent in terms of plot.
