Don't know what's wring with me. I quite liked this. After an interesting prologue of Sadakos-on-a-plane it threatens to devolve into RIngu with teenagers and Facebook (yay!) but alters the formula enough by focusing
on plucky (natch) stay-at-home Matilda Lutz, trying to work out why her boyfriend away at Uni is acting so tense and distracted.

The slightly different approach as someone outside the curse tries to work
out what's going on freshens it up somewhat and while the (ludicrously over-resourced) evolutionary biologist, Johnny Galecki's sideplot is
typically smug and annoying it's also kind of interesting.

The second half, while probably better made, returns to more standard
Ring territory as our heroes run around Samara's old stamping grounds
trying to work out WTF is going on before the 7 days is up, and why
Vincent D'Onofrio is such a ham.

Standard dopey Ring twist-ending is dopey.

Slight problem with all of the above: not a single spooky or scary moment.
Need to watch it as a thriller or not at all.
