This seems to be getting some negative reviews - along with the usual
fanboy 'I must log on to the Internet and register my displeasure immediately' stuff - but I saw it at Alamo Drafthouse last weekend and
really enjoyed it. It's an 80s throwback (duh) about high school
friends who become convinced their cop neighbor is the serial killer
who has been offing people in their area. The kids are stereotypes,
as they're intended to be, but they're fun to spend time with. The
'nerd' seems like a virtual clone of Stephen Geoffreys!
This is set in Wisconsin, but was made in Canada, a fact given away by
the occasional "aboot" and the plethora of weirdass French Canadian
names in the credits.
Takes a bit of a turn at one point, which is an odd fit with the rest
but otherwise works.
Overall this movie is like Disturbia, if Disturbia was a really good,
fun movie and not a piece of crap.
From the makers of TURBO KID.
Check it out, eh?
