I had this down as a comedy for some reason, probably confusing it with Zombieland, but it's definitely not funny. I'm not a big fan of vampire movies but this is one of the good kind - a post apocalyptic setting that reminded me more of The Road than anything. Although nowhere near as slow
or as bleak as The Road, it's a similar set up with an older vampire hunter and a teenage boy heading towards a safe destination that probably doesn't exist. The vampires weren't very vampirey, more of a zombie-hybrid, but unfortunately I found them more annoying than terrifying. All in all,
pretty good.

I keep trying to watch this and ending up bailing on it. Which is odd
since I love LATE PHASES, which iirc is by the same director with the
same star.
I watched Late Phases last night and also loved it. I do like a good
werewolf film but can never understand why they always have to transform
into such silly-looking cunts. They should just change into an actual
wolf.
You don't get dracula turning into a bloke in an ASDA halloween costume,
he turns into an actual bat. Why am I the only person with any sense?

Earlier this month I watched AS BOAS MANEIRAS - a bit different from the usual werewolf films, but not good enough for me to recommend it.

I like the sound of it and it has great reviews, can't find the cunt
though. All the Nigels are useless these days.

STAKE LAND is a bit plodding and arty so it is understandable that some
have difficulty making it through to the end. I recommend it to fans of zombie and vampire films who also enjoy the works of Terrence Malick.

I've just noticed there's a sequel on Netflix.
