    This movie sucks!

Not to confused with James Elroy's My Dark Places which I reviewed here in depth nearly 5 years ago.

Sister who is the sole survivor of a family massacre allegedly perpetrated by her brother years later is paid by a group of true crime afficianados believing
in her brother's innocence to revisit the case.

Goes a bit into the satanic panic of the 1980's and heavy metal but very cliched.

Movie gets really predictable really early. Once you figure out what's gonna happen, the plot between the beginning and the end is just white noise. Not very interesting, not even the random side turn toward the end.

The characters are one dimensional and unsympathetic.

Except the mom who bleeds despair. Because the actress has a sad face.

Read the book, which was moderately amusing, tho populated by obnoxious characters. Haven't seen the movie.

The missus is watching the SHARP OBJECTS series and thoroughly enjoying it.
I didn't particularly like GONE GIRL and have opted out.
