(Might be a bit spoilery, not that there's much to spoil)
An obnoxious, rich wanker takes some dopey slag away for a dirty weekend
in the middle of the desert. His two ugly scum-bag mates turn up and, as
soon as his back is turned, one of them rapes her (in a pitiful rape
scene)
while the other turns up the tv to drown out the screams. When the
wanker discovers what has happened, he turns out to be even more of an obnoxious prick and she ends up dead, or so they think. Dragging herself
off to a cave, after a ridiculously silly escape from the tree she was impaled on, she undergoes a rambo-esque transformation and presumably
goes on to wreak revenge in comic-book OTT fashion (if the reviews are anything to go by, it's an absolute blood bath) but I turned it off at
this point as I was bored cuntless.
The problem with more recent rape/revenge films is that they are usually
20% rape and 80% revenge, when I prefer it the other way around.

Have I ever told you my theory about RAPE?

I've got a copy (along with another rape/revenge film, THE
but it's not very high on my list.
I did watch DEEPER: THE RETRIBUTION OF BETH and that was better than I expected, despite the ending being a bit of a mess.

I've got a couple of old ones lined up for (re)watching - The Candy
Snatchers and Axe. Can't seem to get hold of House by the Lake (aka
Death Weekend) though.

Last night I watched REVENGE and enjoyed it. As you point out there is
not much of a plot, and long stretches of little dialogue, unless you
count screams of agony as dialogue, don't add much to the story. It's
the old THE MOST DANGEROUS GAME, or the Ozzie FAIR GAME, or a host of
other films that use the cliche done up in a style reminiscent of
Nicolas Winding Refn. With all the disturbing violence but without all
the metaphysical mumbo jumbo and actors staring off into the distance.
A bit long for a film about a bird running bare foot through the
desert but it is brutal. I was surprised to find that it was not
directed by an Eli Roth wannabe but a woman, Coralie Fargeat.
Owing more than just a passing nod to I Spit on Your Grave comes the
Coralie Fargeat's vigilante thriller REVENGE which is out on Digital
this month.
Matilda Lutz (Rings) is taken away by her boss Richard (played by some
French bastard I'd never heard of) for a dirty weekend at his remote
luxury condo, which happens to be on the edge of the desert.
Anyway, a couple of his friends that he goes hunting with show up early
and the booze and drugs start flowing. When one of them rapes her after Richard leaves the house, she threatens to expose their affair if he
doesn't do something about them.
Instead, he decides its easier to get rid of Jen. But she manages to get
away and a dangerous game of cat and mouse ensues accross the desert.
Quite enjoyed this, even though there was no way she would be able to
get away after the injuries she would have suffered in real life when
they try to silence her.
Certainly, given the extremes of temperature in the desert, blood loss,
lack of food, water and shelter to sustain her, I doubt in reality she
would have been in any fit state to take on her attackers and turn the
tables on them.
But this is only a movie, and its quite a brutal one at that. Certainly
the scenes of her stalking about with a pump action shotgun and
cartridge belt, dressed only on a crop top and thong, were certainly
very captivating, if not somewhat impractical.
Given this groups reverance for I Spit on Your Grave, i'd say give it a go.
ill look it up....its sounds rapeytastic!!

I have, but I can't remember much about it. I may have to start writing
