    I've never seen the appeal of Blu-ray but, on my annual pilgrimage to Portmeirion this year, the Prisoner Shop having ran out of Prisoner tat
    that I don't already own, I decided to upgrade my donkeys years old dvd
    boxset. Wow. Just fucking wow. It's a whole new world, man. I can't believe I've been missing out on this magnificent vision of The Prisoner for so
    long. It truly is like watching it for the first time, and I've watched it
    at least a million.

    Some of the commentaries are ABSOLUTELY ABYSMAL though. 'oh, yeah, I
    remember this bit' for an hour.

    The makers were very forward thinking - shot it on lovely high quality
    35mm film - so it was effectively HD from day one even if nobody in the
    60s saw it that way.
