DONALD Trump’s military “will continue” to back its South Korean allies and maintain a strong stance against Kim Jong-un’s nuclear-armed north, Washington has vowed.

In a show of strength against Kim’s regime, US and South Korean commanders met onboard the flagship of the US Seventh Fleet today to warn the despot
they are ready to “fight tonight”.

    http://www.express.co.uk/news/world/870609/north-korea-world-war-3-fears-latest-usa-donald-trump-kim-jong-un-uss-ronald-reagan

The warning comes during an “unprecedentedly grave security situation” on the Korean Peninsula as the allies wrap up five days live-fire drills at
sea - exercises unpredictable Kim has labelled a “rehearsal for war”.

North Korea has continued to provoke the West by testing nuclear weapons
as well as long-range ballistic missiles, raising fears of World War 3
    breaking out in the region.

General Jeong Kyeong-doo, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and US
Forces Korea chief General Vincent Brooks met aboard the massive aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan.

The Yonghap News Agency reports General Jeong Kyeong-doo as saying: "Amid
an unprecedentedly grave security situation, the deployment of Ronald
Reagan and its carrier strike group to the Korean Peninsula and their
joint exercise with South Korea is part of the increased deployment of US strategic assets here.

“It must have been a strong warning to North Korea.”

South Korean naval vessels have been training alongside the
nuclear-powered USS Ronald Reagan, which can launch up to 90
    state-of-the-art warplanes.

And it emerged last week nearly 50 American heavy attack helicopters had
been brought in to take part in the latest exercises over concerns North
Korean special forces could try to invade the south by sea.

General Jeong Kyeong-doo added: ”The latest joint exercise has been an opportunity to further improve the ability to carry out joint operations.

“The allies would continue to maintain their strong, joint posture to
    fight tonight through close cooperation.”

This week Japan warned the threat from the secretive north, through both nuclear and conventional weapons, had “reached a critical and imminent level.”

Defence Minister Itsunori Onodera told Reuters: “The threat posed by North Korea has grown to the unprecedented, critical and imminent level.

“Therefore, we have to take calibrated and different responses to meet
    with that level of threat.”

Both American and South Korean troops stationed in East Asia have
maintained a combat readiness motto of “ready to fight tonight” in case unpredictable Kim launches a preemptive strike or attempts an invasion of Seoul.

This week’s naval drills are just the latest in a series of exercises by
    the allied forces.

American bombers, escorted by stealth fighter jets, have been flying
missions in international airspace along the hermit state’s border for months.

And US commanders recently vowed to continue the sorties, despite a
warning by Kim’s regime that it “reserved the right” to shoot them down.

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump and the North Korean despot have
continued to trade insults and threats.

Mr Trump has previously warned Kim he would “totally destroy” the north if it dared attack the US or one of its allies.

In response, the dictator called the President “mentally deranged” and
said American would “pay a dear price” for its threats.

    ### - so then, we've had the: yeah? YEAH! fucking YEAH! bit, and now it's getting to the: well do something then! no YOU do something first! YEAH?

As usual, you understand very little. These are historic tides at
play - up to 1 in 4 of the DPRK population was killed (including women
and children) by the US in the Korean War. This isn't "boys will be
boys". Trump has no idea of the background to this massive grudge
against the US, his thinking is limited to 140 characters at a time.

The DPRK will not bend on this. Nor will they take the first
aggressive action. If Trump is stupid enough to immerse the US in a
regional war he will definitely pay the piper one way or the other.
    So:

    1. Any belligerence will not be started by DPRK.

    2. Therefore the USA will need to make the first serious move.

    3. Trump is limited cognitively to twitter bites but his advisers
will be top notch and his actions will be finessed by those advisers.
Those advisers are keenly aware that Seoul and Tokyo, and perhaps
Yokohama (shipyards etc) and Guam, will be destroyed in the opening
hours of any war. That means worldwide economic catastrophe. The US
economy is matrixed into the world economy and the loss of Seoul (LG,
Hyundai, Samsung etc) and Tokyo (studies over 30 years old into the
damage caused by a major quake in Tokyo foretold losses of $1.2
trillion in 1994 dollars - a nuclear detonation over Tokyo would be
much worse causing perhaps tens of trillions of dollars of economic
    damage).

    4. DPRK has anthrax, botulism, probably smallpox, etc - all
weaponised. A half litre of anthrax will kill most of the population
of a major city. They have tabun, sabin, VX and all the other
organophosphates which will kill you in seconds - all weaponised. A
fine spray of VX over any major city and most of the population will
    stop breathing in seconds.

    5. Therefore, it is highly improbable that the war that you slaver
and lust over will occur because it is highly unlikely that the US
will take the risk that DPRK will get off even a couple of its nukes
or a couple of litres of nerve gas or anthrax or whatever.

There are solutions which do not involve war:

    1. China - still the patron state of the Kim dynasty. There is a
threshold for intervention by China which still hasn't been reached.
If war with the US were imminent, then it would be expected that the
US would force its way up to the Chinese border/refugees will flood
southern China/fall will drift into China - therefore, Xi will not
permit war to occur. China will intervene when that threshold has
    been reached.

    2. Acceptance - accept DPRK as a defensive member of the nuclear few.
This is the most likely outcome.

Slider, the above shows how an organised moderately disciplined person
    would analyse the current situation.

    Here's a challenge. To you.

Parse the above and apply your critique. Give it plenty of thought.
If I'm wrong in my analysis, tell me how and where I'm mistaken. Being
human, I err so I won't take umbrage.

But this *is* a challenge. Let's see what you're capable of.

human, I err so I won't take umbrage.

But this *is* a challenge. Let's see what you're capable of.

    thang

    ### - there's a major flaw (or rather: omission) in your analysis...

i.e., you have failed to include/account for what really 'started' all
    this?

america started all this! it deliberately picked a fight with NK!

and i've suggested previously (on more than one occasion) that they've
done this because it has a prior agenda, that its sights are actually set
on a far higher goal than NK alone, which, imho (and observation) is
merely their 'excuse' for being in the region so heavily armed! that
they're REAL goal is the big-3: russia, china & iran! and that THIS has
been their ultimate agenda all along!

that: russia, china & iran are the 'last 3 remaining obstacles' to
democracy (so-called) having/attaining complete global domination!

the whole situation concerning these 3 was previously at a stalemate! grid-locked! and deliberately so! clever tactics on behalf of these big-3
had created an impasse! anyones moves and they lose! and a kind of 'peace' resulted from this, a status quo! but also a stalemate for the usa who has higher goals than 'sharing' the world with ultimately competing ideologies!

thus 'peace' in the region is the LAST thing they want!

plus i assume by now that russia & china knows it too?

'israel' will take-out iran when the time comes! (and any 'other'
potential left-over troublemakers in the region to boot! the middle east
is 'already' in chaos, this again having been deliberately engineered so
israel wont have any bother mopping up the place! with nukes if necessary! islam is going: Down!)

from america's pov; china 'has' to be stopped from becoming bigger/more powerful than the usa! end of story!

russia was already defeated once via crashing their economy, the old
soviet union collapsed effectively putting them out of the game! they're
less powerful now as a result! AND we're on their case! continually
hounding them! squeezing them! currently literally surrounding them! (the russians are actually only fighting to survive, they've asked to remain neutral! they have no expansionist aims or goals and only wanna remain independent! they only wanna continue to... exist!)

unfortunately for russia though, from the west's pov; you are either
    'with' them OR against them?

the fact remains: they ARE a competing ideology! an 'alternative' to
democracy! which is precisely WHY they've been so heavily demonised all
    along!

sorry russia! we can't have no... 'neutrals' hanging about in our plans
    for a new world!

you either come to democracy or democracy will come to you!

and that's the state of the world today ;)

will be top notch and his actions will be finessed by those advisers.

Let's see what you're capable of.

    thang

    ### - there's a major flaw (or rather: omission) in your analysis...

i.e., you have failed to include/account for what really 'started' all
    this?

america started all this! it deliberately picked a fight with NK!

and i've suggested previously (on more than one occasion) that they've
done this because it has a prior agenda, that its sights are actually set
on a far higher goal than NK alone, which, imho (and observation) is
merely their 'excuse' for being in the region so heavily armed! that
they're REAL goal is the big-3: russia, china & iran! and that THIS has
been their ultimate agenda all along!

that: russia, china & iran are the 'last 3 remaining obstacles' to
democracy (so-called) having/attaining complete global domination!

the whole situation concerning these 3 was previously at a stalemate! >grid-locked! and deliberately so! clever tactics on behalf of these big-3
had created an impasse! anyones moves and they lose! and a kind of 'peace' >resulted from this, a status quo! but also a stalemate for the usa who has >higher goals than 'sharing' the world with ultimately competing ideologies!

thus 'peace' in the region is the LAST thing they want!

plus i assume by now that russia & china knows it too?

'israel' will take-out iran when the time comes! (and any 'other'
potential left-over troublemakers in the region to boot! the middle east
is 'already' in chaos, this again having been deliberately engineered so >israel wont have any bother mopping up the place! with nukes if necessary! >islam is going: Down!)

from america's pov; china 'has' to be stopped from becoming bigger/more
powerful than the usa! end of story!

russia was already defeated once via crashing their economy, the old
soviet union collapsed effectively putting them out of the game! they're
less powerful now as a result! AND we're on their case! continually
hounding them! squeezing them! currently literally surrounding them! (the >russians are actually only fighting to survive, they've asked to remain >neutral! they have no expansionist aims or goals and only wanna remain >independent! they only wanna continue to... exist!)

unfortunately for russia though, from the west's pov; you are either
    'with' them OR against them?

the fact remains: they ARE a competing ideology! an 'alternative' to >democracy! which is precisely WHY they've been so heavily demonised all >along!

sorry russia! we can't have no... 'neutrals' hanging about in our plans
    for a new world!

you either come to democracy or democracy will come to you!

and that's the state of the world today ;)

Well that's actually a pretty accurate wrap up. All your own work
Slider? If so, you've done well. It was clear, short and to the
point. When I used to speechify at Rostrum (the other mob is
Toastmasters) we used to call it the "pertinent point" address which
was given by a selected member over dinner. Your points are certainly pertinent.

I could clean it up a little but it's not worth it because I had no
difficulty understanding what you said. And, I agree. There is a
much bigger game at play and it is the long game. DPRK is part of it
in many ways and the time is now while the US is superior before China
under Xi becomes ascendant. And it *is* the US picking a fight in
    that context exactly.

    Xi's speech and coronation:

    https://pjmedia.com/trending/chinas-xi-jinping-promises-aggressive-communism-a-military-is-built-to-fight/

If Xi stands on a hill, all he can see is American military bases
surrounding China - and Taiwan. Japan, the Phillipines, Thailand,
Australia and more. No Chinese bases, just American.

Russia too - Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Ukraine, Byelorus - they and
more were all Russian once (and the Soviets were even bigger). Now
Putin standing on a hill can only see NATO and the US priming up these countries as potential aggressors which will threated Russia's
    existence.

But all the same, DPRK can launch a high altitude warhead gamma
enhanced output and put most of the US power grid permanently offline
by destroying the transformers which make the grid backbone. They
cannot be replaced. Just one missile and it's game over for the US. A
recent think tank postulated 90% of the population of the US will be
dead in 12 months. I think that's accurate.

So while the long game is certainly China first, and possibly Russia,
the immediate game is DPRK and DPRK will not strike first. If they
can't be bullied into submission Trump will face a very hard choice -
accept them into the club or act. The collateral damage I pointed out
above militates against Trump acting. It's still most likely that
DPRK will be accepted into the nuclear club and continuing severe
embargos on imports will mount up the damage to citizens.

    Watch this space.

Oh by the way, Iran is a sideshow *until* Trump decertifies the deal
and the embargo clamps down again. Then it's nuclear weaponisation
and a very scared Israel wondering what the hell to do. If Israel
strikes Tehran with nukes Israel can expect to be fully and completely obliterated and the shoah of the 1940's will be reactivated. Who will obliterate Israel? Iran with biological and chemical agents,
Hezbollah, Syria and most likely Russia.

so how many 'nukes' can YOU juggle then bro? - am up to 3 already!

    yeah? yeah! oh fuck off!

    riiiiight... :)

    ### - of course my thinking as substantiated by a score of previous posts positing/suggesting same... added to which, trump has stated categorically
that a nuclear NK will NOT be acceptable! negotiations in that direction
are thus out except perhaps as a ploy only, plus waiting for sanctions etc
to have any real effect will take far too long... nope, for actually
'changing' things only a military option is at all viable, the 'amount' of collateral damage being directly proportionate to 'who else' maybe gets involved (or not) and to what extent...

perforce the sheer risk of NK getting 'anything' substantial off 'before'
being completely destroyed necessitates taking them out massively asap! no quarter given! and thus preemptively given even the slightest provocation! (e.g., such as upon their very next missile test 'because' it could be a nuke/as it's currently being hyped to be...)

also, have you not noticed, for example, how ding-dong has virtually
'stopped' testing just very recently?? perhaps he KNOWS they're just
looking for 'any' excuse now? plus have you 'any conception' of the
'sheer' fire-power that's been gathered out there against him from several nuclear nations??

imho, if he *doesn't* supply them with the excuse they require, then
they'll 'push the envelope' all the way on this one thang... probably
start literally invading him or something... and if he even MOVES at all
to resist/retaliate in ANY way whatsoever, if he doesn't just LET them
walk in & over him, then they'll have their excuse to massively clobber
the fucker one-time! go all in on him!

given their stated position/stance i don't see them having any other
    option really...

    he's GOT to go!

    ### - covered this already when i mentioned a while back that it takes a 'massive' blast to produce the kind of emp you describe? e.g., the US
exploded a 1.4meg device over the pacific as one of their last (if not
'the' last) they tested, and the emp involved was a minor affair that
hardly affected anything worth mentioning... the point being NK don't even
have 'that' capacity! let alone the sheer size of nuke required to disable america as described?? (maybe a few 20meg'ers spread over the entire
country at the correct height MIGHT theoretically produce such an effect,
