As usual, you understand very little. These are historic tides at
play - up to 1 in 4 of the DPRK population was killed (including women
and children) by the US in the Korean War. This isn't "boys will be
boys". Trump has no idea of the background to this massive grudge
against the US, his thinking is limited to 140 characters at a time.
The DPRK will not bend on this. Nor will they take the first
aggressive action. If Trump is stupid enough to immerse the US in a
regional war he will definitely pay the piper one way or the other.
So:
1. Any belligerence will not be started by DPRK.
2. Therefore the USA will need to make the first serious move.
3. Trump is limited cognitively to twitter bites but his advisers
will be top notch and his actions will be finessed by those advisers.
Those advisers are keenly aware that Seoul and Tokyo, and perhaps
Yokohama (shipyards etc) and Guam, will be destroyed in the opening
hours of any war. That means worldwide economic catastrophe. The US
economy is matrixed into the world economy and the loss of Seoul (LG, Hyundai, Samsung etc) and Tokyo (studies over 30 years old into the
damage caused by a major quake in Tokyo foretold losses of $1.2
trillion in 1994 dollars - a nuclear detonation over Tokyo would be
much worse causing perhaps tens of trillions of dollars of economic
damage).
4. DPRK has anthrax, botulism, probably smallpox, etc - all
weaponised. A half litre of anthrax will kill most of the population
of a major city. They have tabun, sabin, VX and all the other organophosphates which will kill you in seconds - all weaponised. A
fine spray of VX over any major city and most of the population will
stop breathing in seconds.
5. Therefore, it is highly improbable that the war that you slaver
and lust over will occur because it is highly unlikely that the US
will take the risk that DPRK will get off even a couple of its nukes
or a couple of litres of nerve gas or anthrax or whatever.
There are solutions which do not involve war:
1. China - still the patron state of the Kim dynasty. There is a
threshold for intervention by China which still hasn't been reached.
If war with the US were imminent, then it would be expected that the
US would force its way up to the Chinese border/refugees will flood
southern China/fall will drift into China - therefore, Xi will not
permit war to occur. China will intervene when that threshold has
been reached.
2. Acceptance - accept DPRK as a defensive member of the nuclear few.
This is the most likely outcome.
Slider, the above shows how an organised moderately disciplined person
would analyse the current situation.
Here's a challenge. To you.
Parse the above and apply your critique. Give it plenty of thought.
If I'm wrong in my analysis, tell me how and where I'm mistaken. Being
human, I err so I won't take umbrage.
But this *is* a challenge. Let's see what you're capable of.

Slider? If so, you've done well. It was clear, short and to the
point. When I used to speechify at Rostrum (the other mob is
Toastmasters) we used to call it the "pertinent point" address which
was given by a selected member over dinner. Your points are certainly pertinent.
I could clean it up a little but it's not worth it because I had no difficulty understanding what you said. And, I agree. There is a
much bigger game at play and it is the long game. DPRK is part of it
in many ways and the time is now while the US is superior before China
under Xi becomes ascendant. And it *is* the US picking a fight in
that context exactly.
Xi's speech and coronation:
https://pjmedia.com/trending/chinas-xi-jinping-promises-aggressive-communism-a-military-is-built-to-fight/
If Xi stands on a hill, all he can see is American military bases
surrounding China - and Taiwan. Japan, the Phillipines, Thailand,
Australia and more. No Chinese bases, just American.
Russia too - Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Ukraine, Byelorus - they and
more were all Russian once (and the Soviets were even bigger). Now
Putin standing on a hill can only see NATO and the US priming up these countries as potential aggressors which will threated Russia's
existence.
But all the same, DPRK can launch a high altitude warhead gamma
enhanced output and put most of the US power grid permanently offline
by destroying the transformers which make the grid backbone. They
cannot be replaced. Just one missile and it's game over for the US. A
recent think tank postulated 90% of the population of the US will be
dead in 12 months. I think that's accurate.
