Slider, you need to loosen up. Yin/Yang - neither of them is pure,
each has a little of the other yet they both balance. A welfare
oriented society is bad and kills motivation, whereas a full on right
leaning society is bad and kills compassion.
But a little of each can co-exist and provide the best outcome for the majority and the majority is what's favoured by nature in its blind procession towards perfection.

so what we're really only talking about here is the correct (read: sane) proportional balance between them that counts, which imho & observation is
an area 'just left' of center ;)
So, for my, I'm essentially left leaning (love my dope, drugs, freedom
- don't EVER put a finger on me or you'll retrieve it mangled - and
don't ever tell me what to do) but I have strong elements of right
leaning which are complementary and co-existent. I'm a capitalist but
don't believe in trading off the misery of those who don't have my
good fortune - for instance, I abhor property landlords who trade off
the misery of those who can't afford to buy property.

You should learn to love life for what it is. You're only here for a
short time so ignore these phantasms left/right bullshit, they're just
labels for the ignorant to consume. Be a liberated thinker, it feels
great.
