End of the world: The Rapture is 'CLOSE' warns Bible expert and TV
evangelist

TIME is running short as the signs of Jesus Christ's return indicate the Rapture of the Church is "close", at least according to one preacher's end
of the world claims.

The Rapture of the Church is one of the many prophetic events that will supposedly precede the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Some interpretations
of Bible scripture indicate the Rapture will be imminent and can happen at
a moment's notice, yanking both the dead and the living into heaven.
Belief in the Rapture is commonly associated with US evangelists who await
the end of the world.

One such evangelist is Pastor Paul Begley of West Lafayette in Indiana, US.

The firebrand preacher hosts the weekly TV series The Coming Apocalypse
and runs a popular YouTube channel about Bible prophecies and conspiracy theories.

And although he does not believe the Rapture is going to happen in the
coming days - particularly the Jewish new year Rosh Hashanah - he does
think the clock is ticking.

Pastor Begley discussed the Biblical signs and prophecies surrounding the Rapture in a recent video shared with his more than 338,000 YouTube subscribers.

He said: "Listen, if you're asking me, 'Pastor Begley is the Rapture gonna happen during the Feast of Trumpets or on the Day of Atonement or during
the Feast of Tabernacles', my answer is - based on Biblical prophecy, and
the Bible and events that need to unfold - my answer is no.

"It is not time, okay? Close, but not time. If you ask me, 'Could God
change his mind and do it?', the answer's yes, of course.

"God is in control. He knows when he's going to do it and He said He would
even shorten the days for the elect's sake, least there be no flesh saved.

"And so because of that, you need to watch and pray, and you need to be
ready for an hour you think not, then the Son of Man cometh.

"Am I making that - does that make sense to you? Because I'm preaching to
you exactly the word of God.

"Nobody knows the day nor the hour. I don't know the day nor the hour."

The Bible is very clear about not trying to predict when the End Days will strike.

Neither Jesus nor the hosts of heavens know when this will happen.

Jesus himself is quoted in Matthew 24, saying: "But about that day or hour
no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the
Father.

"As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of
Man."

Pastor Begley does, however, frequently entertain the idea the signs of
Jesus's return are playing out in modern-day events.

He has, for example, recently claimed diplomatic dealings in the Middle
East are all part of God's plan.

The scripture expert has predicted apocalyptic events will soon begin to
affect the planet.

But other followers of the Bible believe such doom-mongering goes against
the spirit of Christian teaching.

Pastor Stephen Witmer of Pepperell Christian Fellowship in Pepperell, Massachusetts, said: "As claim after claim of the imminent return of Jesus
has proven wrong over the last two thousand years, Jesus’s words have
proven true."

In his opinion, attempting to date-set the Second Coming of Christ
undermines the importance of Jesus' teachings.
