everything is gonna be alright no matter
what your fine mind might be telling you.
### - ok here's how it's likely to go then...
it's a 'new' virus/illness so 'everyone' is susceptible to it, barring
perhaps a tiny few with some kinda natural immunity to it (there's always
some but it's too a tiny number)
in which case, plus assuming there's not gonna be a vaccine for at least a
year (if ever) then *everyone's* gonna be exposed to it at 'some' point no matter what; 80% of which wont suffer anything worse than a
stinking/rotten cold but they'll get-over it nonetheless, the other 20%
having more severe symptoms, most of which will likely survive (like the boris), but with perhaps as-much as 1 to 5% of the total dying from it... (we're talking 1 to 5% of the world population here that it'll kill for
one reason or another)
so now we have 2 choices innit... do absolutely everything possible NOT to 'ever' catch it by staying locked indoors whatever, forever, and/or until
it's gone altogether, if it ever does... or accept that you're gonna get
it at some point anyway and just carry on regardless and see what happens:
in which case one either survives it or one doesn't...
from the goverments pov they just don't want it happening all at once, so they've opted for a series of staggered waves of infection until
everyone's eventually had it, i.e., if they all gots it all at the same
time it would completely overwhelm the services so they's staggering it by slowing the whole process down to something similar like seasonal flu...
iow: every fucker's gonna get it at some point but just not all at once!
the 'hope' is that some type of 'herd' immunity will arise once around 60
to 80% of the populace have had it, or failing that becomes just like a seasonal flu as it mutates; loads of people die from flu every year but at
a rate that doesn't typically overwhelm the support services...
the only scenario that's perhaps a bit more worrying/scary is reactivation/reinfection, i.e., a persistent virus that never actually
leaves the body once you get it like herpies or hiv, or one that leaves
the body only to reinfect it again & again with the same virus because we
can't produce lasting antibodies to it...
and that's it really...
so then we're ALL gonna get it at 'some' point unless naturally immune, so
the only question is when and in which wave... in which case later is
prolly better than sooner because these things have a tendency to
evolve/grow weaker over time and the version of it that's still around in
a couple of years from now is likely to have evolved down to something
that produces less severe symptoms...
iow: they'll relax the lockdowns and let a few more people become infected
and then maybe tighten them again depending on the resulting numbers, staggering it on/off like that until nearly everyone's had it and then no
more lockdowns will be required, reactivation/reinfection being the only
thing that would throw a spanner into the above works...
gots it? :)
