(from today's briefing)
Dominic Raab has said a vaccine is more likely to help stopping a second coronavirus outbreak worldwide, as opposed to coming in soon enough to
help reduce lockdown measure soon.
Professor Chris Whitty said a vaccine being widely available to the public
or effective medicines to treat coronavirus strongly will not likely be available in the next calendar year.
He has said therefore it is likely measures such as social distancing will
need to be kept in place until either a drug to combat the virus or a
vaccine are available.
### - and there ya have it folks; the 'only' solution is either a vaccine and/or drugs to halt the virus else it's here to stay, that until such
times as there 'is' such a thing (minimum of a calendar year for a vaccine according to the experts) social distancing and other disciplines will all
just have to continue in-place! somehow!
meanwhile heh, after only 4 weeks of lockdown, gun-toting protests are
taking place across the globe as people demonstrate their need to get back
to work to earn a crust, even governments are talkin' about easing their lockdowns! but how's that gonna work out when social distancing perforce
has to remain in-place for at least the next calendar year??
pubs, bars, clubs, sports meetings, concerts, too many people in
supermarkets & shops at any one time, public transport, rush-hours + an
almost endless list of otherwise normal activities; will perforce all have
to remain restricted to varying degrees... meaning that the societal 'landscape' we've all been used to until now is gonna have to be very
different for quite some while!
and for such a long time that the 'way' we do things is likely gonna
change forever!
more people working from home for example? online shopping and delivery
systems upgraded maybe? everyone outside walking around in sealed orange
hazmat suits lol! (well maybe not that bad heh but certainly with masks,
gloves and maybe overshoes!)
'society' is thus gonna have to learn to function in a completely
different manner & way until such times as they actually get rid of this
thing, if'n they ever do that is?
and because for all we know, things may have just changed on this
planet... forever!
with no possibility of ever returning to the casual way things once were!
in which case we (our generation i mean) was quite possibly the last to see/witness the 'old' way of doing things?
could well be!
and because now we either 'adapt' or die...
Nature's not giving us any other choice?
and the average life-span is falling!
plus not much use going to fuckin' mars now innit hah! :)
change of plans everyone?
