Americans own nearly half of civilian-owned guns worldwide (48%) -
averaging 89 guns per 100 people.
The U.S. makes up less than 5% of the world's population,
yet has 31% of the world's major mass-shooting incidents.
Yet the US is the world's third most populous country. China, India
then the US at 340 million.
We have 6 times as many mass shootings as Russia does,
and 5 times as many the Philippines (Numbers 2 and 3 worldwide).
We have 9 times as many mass shootings as France (Number 5).
But there's so much hypocrisy, unfairness, inequality, contempt,
crassness, greed and need I go on - that is it any wonder people feel
left out and powerless and they want to make their MARK.
This guy got even. He made his mark. He left a message for all you
americans. That's what you guys just do not get.
He didn't leave any message. He had a bunch of cryptic numbers written
down on a piece of paper.
They weren't cryptic, they were calculations by a numbers-man
(beancounter) such as to derive the trajectories and firing locations
to maximise fatalities. Why did you assume they were "cryptic"? I
didn't think you, my intelligent friend, would jump to conclusions
like that :(
A delay in releasing the meaning of the numbers doesn't add mystery...

Nope. His bright idea was that music festivals in the US are the
ultimate in soft targets if surrounded by tall buildings. Bit like

than in other high income nations.
Your hypocrisy is a thousandfold that of most other countries...you
can have nuclear eapons, but others can't. You can invade countries
like Iraq on false pretexts but others can't. Of course if the
"others" are big and bad enough to do so with impunity and no fear of
the US, then the US backs down (eg Crimea).

I've lived in the US for over 6 decades, yet have never been involved
in an incident of gun violence, and what's more have never had a
single friend involved in an incident of gun violence that I knew of.
My father never was involved in gun violence either. Nor were any
of his three brothers.
My dad used to have a rifle he kept in the trunk of our car when
I was a kid. He went duck hunting once in a while and I remember
him shooting a few snakes when we were on fishing trips. That gun
was gone and he had stopped hunting by the time I was a teenager.
I think it's weird to imagine that the people are violent here now
due to wars that ended centuries ago.
I'm imagining nothing. I'm recounting your past and the history of
your country. And you are not thinking clearly at all, which doesn't
do you the credit your mind obviously can.
You are confounding "gun ownership" and the violent fights for freedom
(against the British and against slavery) in the rock certain history
of the US with violence perpretated by a very few against masses of
innocents. They are three different things. I said that gun
ownership is totally based on the prior violence which has been sewn
into the genes of your country and I said I admire your country for
fighting for the ideals of freedom and independence and abolition of
slavery. I was talking about gun ownership.
Your country now is not a shadow of its former glory and its former
ideals are gone forever. Your country now is a fucking police state
filled with coppers and three letter agencies and spy on spy on spy
and your basic freedoms that your forefathers fought for are gone,
