    meaning; seems to me the bookie is taking all the risk here, true it's a minimal risk on his part but still a genuine risk for all that... whereas
    all am really risking is £1.50 (cheaper than a lottery ticket/cup of
    coffee?) for the outside chance of 4 or even all 5 returning a
    life-altering win!

    all 5 of those gee-gee's having a very reasonable chance of scoring for
    varying good reasons based on current form, jocky, trainer, track

    the dude who wrote that movie obviously knew about the human condition +
    horses & poor people, and their often only illusionary + hopeless hopes & dreams; and that turns it into an Art form, see?

    don't like those typical track-side pick-5 or 6 accumulators though, 'coz they're not based on the sp's + you can't also bet on the smaller bets in between (i.e., get 3 and ya gets your bet back, 4=a pocket full of moola
    to play with, and all five gets ya a taxi ride home!)

    whereas, if you can bet online (and from your particular state of the US
    you can't) you can choose any 5 horses running at any track anywhere on
    the planet, and accumulate 'em any way ya like?

    doesn't even have to be horses one accumulates? all ya need is 5-bankers
    of any description :)

    Yeah, he was one of a kind. He had 2200/20 vision so the world was a blur.
    When Johnny was playing Hendrix would ask the bass player to let him step in.
