The US economy grew at its fastest pace in almost four years in the second quarter, as consumers shrugged off trade war uncertainties and opened their wallets.

Gross domestic product rose at an annual rate of 4.2 per cent in the three months to June 30, the third and final reading from the commerce department showed on Thursday.
The figure was in line with Wall Street expectations and marked the fastest growth rate recorded since the third quarter of 2014, when the US economy expanded at an annual rate of 4.9 per cent. It also marked an acceleration from
the first quarter of
2018 when the US economy grew at an annual rate of 2.2 per cent.
The second-quarter performance came thanks to surges in consumption and business investment. Consumer spending rose by 3.8 per cent during the quarter,
bouncing back from the 0.5 per cent rise recorded during the first quarter.
A separate report also showed durable goods orders, which are seen as a proxy for business investment, rising by the most in six months. The gauge jumped 4.5
per cent, or $11bn, to $259.6bn in August from the previous month. That’s more than twice the
2 per cent rise the market had expected and follows a 1.2 per cent increase in July.
However, analysts cautioned that the strong second quarter numbers reflected one-time factors that would be hard to replicate through the rest of this year,
particularly as the US steps up its trade dispute with its major trading partners and the Fed
remains on track to raise rates one more time this year to prevent the economy from overheating.
The core PCE price index, which strips out volatile energy and food prices and is the Fed’s preferred measure of inflation, was revised slightly higher to 2.1 per cent in the second quarter.
### - and so, behind all the flim-flam, showboating and distraction/contradicton techniques that has the public (and the world) all at each other's throats in abject confusion; we see what's 'really' going on behind the scenes and the job seemingly well-
done that old trumpy-boy was obviously put in place to do eh?
i.e., rob every fucker blind (except their own) to boost the economy! trump basically only being (and remaining) main-stream right-wing republican! which in that respect is basically no better nor worse than any other right-wing twat!
now it's his 'style' that's controversial hah! - otherwise it's just basically business as-usual! right-wing style and policy all the way down the line! ya rob & squeeze the poor to boost the economy in a slow-growth slump that came about by the left-
wing actually looking after the people a bit better via more public spending and less aggressive techniques!
and it's basically the same here too! no-matter people's political opinion (which in most cases is nearly zero anyway amongst the poor beyond that of personality worship/cults...) if there's trouble in the economy peeps then always in a panic send for
the tories to sort it out 'coz everyone knows *they's* much better at *making* money! (yeah, but only by applying all of the above same thievery tactics hah! - even the original 'definition' of the term 'tory' coming about for meaning 'thief'!)
and so yes peeps, the 'sheriff of nottingham' (and not robin hood for example) is back in power in the world as the 'whole' world slowly shifts to the right under the pressures of austerity & terrorism (heh plus we wont go into the fact
that, in most
incidences anyway, that same austerity & terrorism was actually 'created' by the right-wing in the first place just to ensure their own continuation? riiight...)
and so same as it ever was peeps, no matter the 'hysteria' of 'some' of us here
in regards to the currently perhaps somewhat overly 'flamboyant-figurehead' of that same current right-wing organisation hah! (hello! this is 2018 peeps! things have to
dressed up to the eyeballs and beyond to even get (and keep) anyone's attention
anymore?? caricatures! everywhere ya look!)
things don't change down here! (they get worse! but they don't change heh...)
ok, 'T-break's' over folks! (smile...)
so back under ya's all go!
ahahaha :D
