Trump speaks out about Africa again, and many cringe

By CARA ANNA | Associated Press

    http://www.foxnews.com/world/2018/08/23/trump-speaks-out-about-africa-again-and-many-cringe.html

By now, many Africans know to cringe whenever "Trump" and their continent are mentioned together.

It's happened again. In a tweet overnight, President Donald Trump said he had instructed his secretary of state to "closely study" alleged land seizures from
white farmers in South Africa, a racially divisive issue almost a quarter-century after the end
of apartheid, the system of white minority rule.

Many South Africans were stunned. "A racist bigot," the morning host of one of the country's most popular talk radio stations, Eusebius McKaiser, told listeners before opening the airwaves to lively debate about Trump's inaccurate
    comments.

Trump's tweet appeared just days after first lady Melania Trump took a very different approach to Africa, announcing she would be visiting several countries on the continent in October in her first big solo international trip.
    She said she looked forward
to learning about the issues children face and appreciating Africa's history and culture.

It was the latest hint that the first lady might be subtly separating herself from her husband and his controversial views.

Since becoming president, Trump has largely left Africa to drift, meeting only a handful of African heads of state and leaving key diplomatic positions — the ambassador to South Africa, for one — unfilled. It took a year and a half
    to name the top
Africa diplomat in the State Department.

Trump also fired his previous secretary of state, Rex Tillerson, hours after Tillerson ended a multi-country Africa visit earlier this year in an effort to mend badly frayed ties.

Now some observers say Trump is using his latest Africa comments to try to deflect attention from his sprawling legal troubles at home.

"The President of the U.S. needs political distractions to turn our gaze away from his criminal cabal, and so he's attacking South Africa with the disproven racial myth of 'large scale killings of farmers,'" Patrick Gaspard, a former U.S. ambassador to
South Africa, tweeted on Thursday. "This man ... has no discernible Africa policy."

You just can't have a man who thinks like this as president of
one of the most powerful countries on earth. You just can't.
I copied that story from Fox News. :) Here's some more:

By Peter Doocy, Jake Gibson, Lucas Tomlinson | Fox News

Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team was one holdout juror away
from winning a conviction against Paul Manafort on all 18 counts
of bank and tax fraud, juror Paula Duncan told Fox News...

Duncan described herself as an avid supporter of President Trump...

“Finding Mr. Manafort guilty was hard for me. I wanted him to be
innocent, I really wanted him to be innocent, but he wasn’t,”
    Duncan said.

    ***

So ALL the other jurors but this "avid Trump supporter"
thought Manafort was guilty on ALL 18 counts, not just on the
eight counts of bank and tax fraud Manafort was convicted of.
She even admitted she "wanted him to be innocent". OMG. :)
The lone holdout who admitted her own bias.

Yet Manafort has to go back on trial for still more crimes in September.

    More Fox News anyone? :)

Michael Cohen plea puts Trump on defensive

By Howard Kurtz | Fox News

Let's cut through the spin. In much of the media, Tuesday's developments in courtrooms in New York and Virginia are getting the Watergate treatment, with lots of speculative pieces about impeachment (which Democratic leaders have said they're not
pursuing). "Legal Blows Fuel Impeachment Fears," blared Politico.

There is little doubt that many journalists are reveling in the convictions as vindicating their dark view of Trump.

At the same time, in media precincts friendly to the president, there is plenty
of deflection and minimization. A campaign finance violation – which Cohen admitted in saying Trump had directed him to help buy the silence of Stormy Daniels and Karen
McDougal – is little more than a speeding ticket. No one in the Real America cares about Trump's involvement with a porn star and a Playboy model. And what about Hillary?

But neither the positive nor negative media chatter can obscure the fact that the dual events were a very tough development for the president. As The Washington Post’s Dan Balz put it, "No day during President Trump's 19 months
    in office could prove as
    dangerous or debilitating as Tuesday."

For months, every time I wrote or spoke about the $130,000 payment to Stormy Daniels or the $150,000 payment (through American Media Inc.) to Karen McDougal, I took plenty of heat from viewers and readers who said no one cared about allegations of decade-
old affairs involving a celebrity businessman. And that's largely true. But it was never about the gossip. I've watched enough investigations to know that the
financial paper trail could cause legal problems for the president and those around him.

Yes, this is far afield from Bob Mueller's mandate to investigate possible Russian collusion. But Ken Starr began with the Whitewater land deal and wound up with Monica Lewinsky, which led to Bill Clinton's impeachment. Sarah Huckabee Sanders called
impeachment talk a "sad attempt" by the Democrats, but in truth there hasn't been much of it.

No matter how the partisans and the pundits try to spin it, there are some difficult days ahead for the Trump presidency.

    ***

To say the least. And remember, that's a Fox News commentator.
So even Fox News acknowledges how bad that all was for Trump.
But 'the man who programs God' only wants to talk about
Mollie Tibbetts. So let's do that a little... :)

Mollie Tibbetts' Relatives Speak Out as Trump Uses Murder as Talking Point

Facebook Tuesday night, only a few hours after authorities announced that the 20-year-old Tibbetts’ remains had been found about a month after she disappeared from Brooklyn,
    Iowa.

Calderwood, described in various media reports as Tibbetts’ aunt, later shared another user’s post which stated, in part, “Please do not compound the atrocity of what happened to her by adding racism and hate to the equation.

A little more Fox News? :)

Former President Jimmy Carter has taken on President Trump, calling the current
commander-in-chief a “disaster” on the issue of human rights in a Washington Post interview.

“I think he’s a disaster,” Carter, 93, said. “In human rights and taking care of people and treating people equal.”

His wife, former first lady Rosalynn Carter, added that Trump is not truthful, which “hurts everything.”

“The worst is that he is not telling the truth, and that just hurts everything,” she said.

Carter told the newspaper Aug. 17 that he “always told the truth” when he was president. He said he was taught by his father and while studying at the U.S. Naval Academy that “truthfulness matters.”

“I think there’s been an attitude of ignorance toward the truth by President Trump,” he said.

Carter concluded his remarks about politics in the interview after discussing the Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision, saying it “changed our political system from a democracy to an oligarchy. Money is now preeminent. I mean, it’s just gone to
    hell now.”

However, he said he had faith Americans would “return to what’s right and what’s wrong, and what’s decent and what’s indecent, and what’s truthful and what’s lies.”

But, he added, “I doubt if it happens in my lifetime.”

    ***

I doubt it too, Jimmy. But even Trump's own attorney general
    is going after him again...

Sessions fires back at Trump's latest slam: DOJ won't be 'improperly influenced' by politics

By Brooke Singman | Fox News

Attorney General Jeff Sessions fired back Thursday at President Trump for saying he “never took control of the Justice Department,” putting out a sharp statement vowing the agency won’t be “improperly influenced” by politics.

    Sessions:
“While I am Attorney General, the actions of the Department of Justice
will not be improperly influenced by political considerations.”

Even creepy Jeff Sessions has more integrity than Trump.
Well, I guess that's enough from Fox News.

Now back to the real subject of the thread.

The Manhattan district attorney’s office is considering pursuing
criminal charges against the Trump Organization and two senior
company officials in connection with Michael D. Cohen’s hush money
    payment to Stormy Daniels.

A state investigation would center on how the company accounted for
its reimbursement to Mr. Cohen for the $130,000 he paid the actress.

Prosecutors have not yet made a decision on whether to proceed.
As president, Trump has no power to pardon people and corporate
    entities convicted of state crimes.

“On its face, it certainly would be problematic,” said one of
the officials familiar with the district attorney’s office review,
noting that listing the reimbursement as a legal expense could
be a felony under state law.

The New York State attorney general’s office has moved to open a
criminal investigation into whether Mr. Cohen has violated state
tax law, an inquiry that would be unrelated to the federal tax
evasion charges that he pleaded guilty to.

Manhattan prosecutors are focused on whether business records
were falsified. That could be charged as a low-level felony,
or as a misdemeanor. It’s a misdemeanor for a person or company
to make a false entry in a business record or cause one to
be made, with intent to defraud. It becomes a felony if it is
done to commit or conceal another crime.

One of the officials stressed that a state investigation into
possible violations of state law could be complicated or delayed
by three other open inquiries relating to Mr. Trump: The federal
investigation into Mr. Cohen; the inquiry by the special counsel,
Robert S. Mueller III, into Russia’s interference in the 2016
election; and a lawsuit that the state attorney general has
brought against the Trump Foundation, a charity.

[If those state prosecutors do after Trump, it's possible he could
be convicted of a felony. It'd be damn funny if Stormy gets him.
Each of those THREE situations has the potential to do him in.]

Aw, is the Dumpster a sad boy? Aw.

    lol... :)))

the dudes a poet maan... leave him alone if ya's don't understand it?
    (still laffing...)

like, there's old dylan thomas going-on about: "and death shall have no
    dominion..." etc etc

and jeremy pipes up: "...that's really not acceptable." - ahahaha! :)))

poets are 'fascinated' with death! maybe because they're not so afraid
    to
look at it? and/or stand trembling in their pants when they do?

and a dying world 'is' a dying world, even when it's reborn in every
    moment too?

how he 'chooses' to relate to (and relate) all that is his business and
his business alone (often very alone...) our business being to try and
understand it, to thus 'borrow' his view and maybe see what he's
    saying/suggesting and be inspired thereby...

and no, it's NOT rational! poetry isn't rational nor logical, and yet it
    can still make sense!

a sense that can't then BE rendered into cogent rational/definitive
    terms;
being precisely what 'makes' it poetry!

Ya got mentioned in passing, so yay, your next big chance to argue!
I was trying to be polite about saying "I'm not willing to hold

and presto, it's your next big chance to 'root against the Jer Team'! :)

    ### - nooo, was/am just standing up for poets in general here is all, and
Art in particular because he's the one you're attempting to cosh :)

But you defended him by distorting his position. Yeah, he writes
poems, but he wasn't speaking poetically in any case referenced.

    ### - he rarely speaks any other way for christsakes, and is only
occasionally literal when he presumably wants to make something clear, but
even that's more usually sandwiched between strong prose...

People often tried that lame defense of Carlos. "Oh, but even if
it's fiction he's still a genius so leave him alone!" Yet CC didn't
claim to be writing fiction. And LowRider wasn't being metaphorical.
That's only your distortion. You're almost the king of distortion.
    And denialism.

    ### - poets don't 'have' any defense, except their poetry! ;)

You've claimed to see the future to the minute of your death
in 2048. You've claimed you talked to Jesus and that you have
programmed God ("like an AI"). A couple of times now you've

    "Come on children
    You're acting like children
    Every generation thinks
It's the end of the world"

    ### - children are, by nature, playful :)

especially when they're children for the second time as in: "once a man
    twice a child!

(As an aside, the guru "Sai Baba" once predicted he'd live into
his mid-90's and claimed he'd choose the date of his passing.
But he died at age 84 in 2011.)

    ### - went to one of his temples once purely by accident while looking
    for
some other temple lol (a friend of mine was looking for a local thai
buddhist temple and, after getting lost in the area and then asking for
directions from a local indian guy we stopped in the street, ended up at
this sai-temple instead haha, his one! + first had ever heard of him!)

haha, suddenly finding ourselves ushered into this strange temple and
realising we didn't belong there, we thought it prudent to at least
    behave
ourselves for 5-minutes and have a look around + see what's
happening/going-on there etc... and it was rather weird to say the
    least...

it was just a little hall decked out with religious pictures of a hindu
nature, typical flowers, mats & cushions on and around the floor etc +
    we
were apparently the only 2 people in there at that time of the day,
pictures & photos of this sai-baba dude in various places around the
    room;
a little shrine! and at one end a small dais with a golden chair
surrounded by rice and flower offerings in bowls kinda thing, all nice
enough... although there was also something very strange about the area
where that chair was, it wasn't anything you could see, there was
    nothing
there only a chair and stuff like where maybe he'd visited once and also
sat, but there was 'something' there you could actually... feel? an
intense feeling in the stomach area when approaching said little stage,
one that immediately faded as you moved away from it, a tangible
sensation! my friend noticed it too and we repeated the effect many
    times
while wondering wtf it was, very strange actually...

That anecdote almost had a point I suppose...

    ### - that there 'was' indeed something 'strange' about him, just wouldn't
like to say what exactly is all though heh... i dunno 'how' he'd done it,
but he'd somehow deliberately left something of himself behind in that
place! you could almost touch it, and when you went near it it touched
you! was just weird is all... (have since heard all the stories about him
etc etc etc, i don't care about that...)

And truly, you sometimes speak as grandly as any "God" might.

    ### - heh ;)

And death shall have no dominion.

Dead man naked they shall be one
    With the man in the wind and the west moon;
When their bones are picked clean and the clean bones gone,
    They shall have stars at elbow and foot;

Though they go mad they shall be sane,
    Though they sink through the sea they shall rise again;
    Though lovers be lost love shall not;
And death shall have no dominion.

Under the windings of the sea
    They lying long shall not die windily;
Twisting on racks when sinews give way,
    Strapped to a wheel, yet they shall not break;

Faith in their hands shall snap in two,
    And the unicorn evils run them through;
    Split all ends up they shan’t crack;
And death shall have no dominion.

No more may gulls cry at their ears
    Or waves break loud on the seashores;
Where blew a flower may a flower no more
    Lift its head to the blows of the rain;

Though they be mad and dead as nails,
    Heads of the characters hammer through daisies;
Break in the sun till the sun breaks down,
And death shall have no dominion.

    "...that's really not acceptable.":) lol...

I've written poems myself that are along the same lines.

    ### - best not to publish it 'coz you'll only get arseholes going:

"...that's really not acceptable." or something heh :)

For example, not long ago you said: "Planets should be like
paper cups used and disposed of properly". That remark made
it clear enough what disdain you might hold for anyone strongly
motivated by a desire to protect and preserve the earth.

    ### - duh...

The main lesson I believe I've learned in decades of posting
in this odd little place, is that human minds are shockingly
fragile and feeble, and that they will do almost anything
to avoid a genuine examination of their own belief systems.
This has been a sobering discovery, to say the least.

    ### - sobering yes, but not one you've applied personally too much
    apparently heh :)

your way's the only way?? i don't think so...

I don't have a 'way', really. My 'way' - whatever it may be -
    changes with every new day.

    ### - so that's why you been hitting the trumpy-button thrice daily for 2
years now huh? because every day you're... different? - and it changes
    every day?? riiiight...

no, your 'way' has been consistently the same for the last 20 years have
known you! same arrogance, same conceit, same hateful nature only now it's
all transfered to trumpy-boy instead?? your latest hate-job! (you've
actually eased-up on old castaneda lol, took ya long enough! - that much!
    wow! (jim from taxi haha)

The last thought recently reemphasized to me is how utterly
banal and foolish it is to predict the end of the world.
It leaves me wondering how many hundreds of times this has

    ### - since Homo Erectus later went on to make writing implements
    actually
    heh...

poets are people too even if they 'do' have a completely different pov
    :)

Um hmm. You'd love to imagine you're poetic. We know. But you're not. :)

    ### - have never claimed to be a good example, far from it, only that am pleased to be on 'their' side of things, to prefer 'their' pov over any
other! and thus to always be backed-up in my arguments by artists and the
like rather than a bunch of rationalists, something i thank the universe
(or whatever) every day just for that 'position' alone :)

Now back to the real subject of the thread.

    ### - now SNIP your being "different every day" bs that's always boringly
    the same...

although these days i suspect you're only doing it to be a twat?

SNIP! (there + maybe that'll help you to 'actually' be different every day
    as you now claim :)

this civilization as a host. This bacteria colony is killing its host

What is the thesis and proofs offered?
Measurement by the self of others consciousness is a symptom.
To me you are other who claims to be self who measures other.
You are often disturbed by what you imagine to be the inner state of other.

I do not bully other, and am not susceptible to bullying.

This has been a sobering discovery, to say the least.

The group has served as a good mirror to examine and admire yourself.
The group has little value as actual individuals or patterns of behavior.

It has also occurred to me (sticking with a 'mother' metaphor),
that if some psycho tries to harm a mother's children, it may
well end up appearing that the mother hates the psycho,

The point of the metaphor is that when aggression is met by counter aggression, an observer might place upon the counter aggressor the emotion state value of hate towards the original aggressor. A posit.

but... her primary motivation for whatever actions she may take
is love for her children and a strong desire to protect them.

So Mother Earth is ergo a conscious being protecting The Moon.
Hatred of the Sun is what might be perceived by the observer.

The last thought recently reemphasized to me is how utterly

    An Afterthought.

One of my therapist had borderline personality disorder.
She gave me this book "So I" could understand "Her" better. https://www.amazon.com/Search-Real-Self-Unmasking-Personality/dp/0029202922
She was fired shortly after Trump was elected for "erratic" behavior.
Reading this book helped me to come to peace with my relationship with
my mother on a deep level. I still take her seriously but I don't let
her black moments affect me deep down inside. BPD people need to feel in control. Control is an illusion, to most people, but BPD perceive it as real.

Borderline personality disorder may be characterized by the following signs and
    symptoms:

    Markedly disturbed sense of identity
Frantic efforts to avoid real or imagined abandonment and extreme reactions
    to such
    Splitting ("black-and-white" thinking)
Impulsivity and impulsive or dangerous behaviors
Intense or uncontrollable emotional reactions that often seem disproportionate to the event or situation
    Unstable and chaotic interpersonal relationships
    Self-damaging behavior

Your the most religious person I have ever known.
    You were a Christian, a Scientologist and a Warrior-Sorcerer.
I was never a religious person ever, I studied religion to understand others.

So did I. I was also briefly a Buddhist. But looking back, most of
those were more 'explorations' than firmly adopted convictions.
The only one of those paths I ever strongly believed for a time
    was "warrior-sorcerer" and it's debatable whether that's even a
"religion", although for all practical purposes I'd call it one.
So that's really just ONE. And that belief ended 20 years ago.

Christian doesn't 'count' since it was childhood indoctrination
I'd abandoned by adolescence, and similarly, I rejected both
Buddhism and Scientology after less than a year of formal adoption
each. I also studied Hinduism, Taoism, Sikhism, and several others
in a fair amount of depth along the way.

Now I'm not religious at all.

You, otoh, have within the last year been quoting several tenets
of ancient Christian literature here as if it's part of your beliefs.
We may be quibbling over the meaning of "religious". But no, I'm not.

A couple of times now you've
pronounced that the human race is doomed.

That is a scientific, mathematical certainty.

Then you should be able to provide the scientific evidence of it.

Asking about your Mom and the light in the forest was unfair.
It was like climbing into someone's attic and giving their crazy
uncle a beating. I know you struggle through 4D mightily looking
for someone to tell you how to live, a person like myself can only
register as insane, because they seek no, witness, validation, or consensus.

I don't know about all that, but like I already said, it just wasn't
even relevant to what we were talking about. Still isn't.

I wonder if you've ever realized, that if you "programmed God"
for all practical purposes that makes YOU God.

If you programmed a virus checker, does that make you VIRUS CHECKER.

For all practical purposes, yeah - it does. If a piece of software is
doing what I *programmed* then it's my 'plan' getting executed. If that programming of mine somehow applied to the functioning of the world
and everything in it, then I'd be "God".

My GOD is an AI far superior to it's author. AI as automated intelligence.

99%+ of people who believe in 'God' see it as that which created
and/or rules the universe. For you to have a 'God' you say is
"superior to" (also implying it's different from?) anyone else's
AND to say you personally *programmed* it yourself is just about incomprehensible in the framework of 99%+ religious belief in 'God'.

Think of Human Civilization as a bacteria colony, I am a virus using
this civilization as a host. This bacteria colony is killing its host
and has no ability to switch hosts. Eventually you must decide for yourself. Accept you too are a data virus and created that light in the forest, or refuse to take responsibility and remain a bacterium. Red pill or blue pill?

Or, maybe neither of us are viruses or bacteria. Maybe we're both
just two more human beings. :) And maybe neither of us will ever
    be able to change that.

    So, bearing
in mind that I'm talking to a guy who thinks he's God,

You pile premise upon predicate upon supposition upon mischaracterization
to rebuild your shell of protective peptides and fight off the virus loading.

I may not understand, but I don't see how anything like what you say
could possibly work. Let's back it off to a simpler position then
and just say that I'm highly skeptical. :)

I think I'll just keep talking about anything I please.

I agree, as your chat associate of 23 years I am obligated by customs
established to politely confront you one time with the surreal nature
of your diatribes. It's been two years and Politics is your 4th religion.
In the computational realms, making the same exact mistake four times
leads to a diminishing state of returns and outcomes.

OMG. Politics isn't a religion any more than grocery shopping or
yard work is. :) It's merely a set of practical tasks necessary in
order to keep large communities of human beings functioning (at city,
state, national, and world levels). It's purely pragmatic.
At least, that's how I see it.

Granted, Trump's people are making it seem a bit "surreal", just by
the sheer dysfunctionality of their demented approach. But for you,
in particular, to call someone else's posts "surreal" has got to be
    the epitome of irony. :)

The fact that *everyone else* in this place besides me seems to
imagine himself "too good" to even bother participating in how
their own community, city, state, and nation gets run continues
to strike me as strange and unrealistic in the extreme. Virus?
Bacteria? If we have to use weird metaphors, you're more like...
    parasites. :)

And I still think the reason you insist upon speaking in metaphor
constantly is that if you didn't and instead spoke plainly giving
real-world examples all along the way, it would quickly become
    apparent that you're largely delusional.

(As an aside, the guru "Sai Baba" once predicted he'd live into
his mid-90's and claimed he'd choose the date of his passing.
But he died at age 84 in 2011.)

If I live to 8:06 AM 04-07-48 then it is an error also.
If the various world clocks are desynchronized I could gather
a mean average based on my personal clock and present you with
gradient time value assignment calibration. Or perhaps an atomic
clock with a trillionth of a second accuracy ratio should be employed.

Yeah, because that was my objection, that you just might not be
precise enough. LOL. Was that sufficiently dripping with sarcasm?
Wow. And I'm the one who's 'surreal'? :)

Btw, you sure talk precisely about TIME for someone who believes it
    to be an illusion.

And truly, you sometimes speak as grandly as any "God" might.

    POT...... KETTLE.... BLACKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK !!!

If I ever speak grandly, then I am either being poetic or
expressing a strong opinion. I never speak as a "God".

For example, not long ago you said: "Planets should be like
paper cups used and disposed of properly".

Exactly, a deeply held opinion, they are the flotsam and jetsam.

    That remark made
it clear enough what disdain you might hold for anyone strongly
motivated by a desire to protect and preserve the earth.

    SPOKEN LIKE A TRUE GOD.

I don't see how anyone could possibly see it that way. Are you
asserting that any person who wants to take good care of the place
where he/she lives is being grandiosely godlike? If so, how weird...

Go fight the red light first.
The information system can churn this version of a solar system out
an infinite amount of times. Does a dung beetle cling to a single
piece of poop his whole life. Does the aardvark borrow into a single
    mound of ants or termites.

Not a single creature that's ever lived here has been able to travel
to even the next planet over (Mars), much less out of this solar
system. Indeed, every creature that's ever lived here has only had
the option of living on exactly ONE planet. This one. That has been
the only option for anything alive here for billions of years. And...
for anyone to act as if that isn't true is decadent and irrational.

REPEAT I am a virus, self editing information systems.
You are a bacterium, a data bank imbued with operating instructions.
I jump from host to host. You kill every host through sheer numbers
and lack of access to The Zero. The fundamental reality within every point.

Repeat: Maybe we're just a couple of human beings. :) I.e., we are not
viruses, or bacteria, or Gods, and maybe neither of us has access to
anything remotely 'godlike' (with the exception of our own brains).

Since you love playing psychic, maybe you thought I'd forget
how back in the 90's I was the *first* person among us to talk at
    length about my mother.

How does teasing you about the phrase "MOTHER EARTH" morph
Deus ex Machina into a discussion of mind reading.
Thank you for that historical reminder and data point rebuttal.

    - but I haven't forgotten, and since it
has nothing to do with what we were even talking about, I'm not
interested in repeating myself, or in catering to that attempt
    to change the subject.

The mother and son relationship has many parallels.
That which originates in a host and becomes a separate entity.
There are a myriad number of forms styles and permutations.
If you talked about your Mom upon her passing, then I forgot due
to the thick ochre green and tree bark brown that surrounds politics. https://www.empressmills.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/Fabric-Paint-Yellow-Ochre-Product-102847.jpg

No. I talked about my mom here *several years* before she passed away.
And again, that was all totally irrelevant to our previous conversation
about the deranged government we've recently acquired and about how
they seem practically hellbent on destroying the earth.

Oh, and btw, worst Zeppelin song ever. :)

    If you say so GOD.
Notice how, by creating a God, I avoided becoming One.

Btw, notice that merely having a strong opinion on a subject
doesn't mean one is playing God or believing themselves to be God.
My Spotify Zeppelin playlist has 133 songs in it. But not that one.
That doesn't mean I think I'm God, you see, it just means there are
at least 133 Zeppelin songs I like better than that one. :)

Adam creates God. Core & Dome. Point-Sphere
Eve creates Satan. Core & Dome. Point-Sphere

Supposedly God created Adam and Eve - and presumably Satan too
(in Jewish/Christian mythology). So that scheme is backwards
compared with how most Christians and religious folk view it.
Makes little sense to me either way.

(And none of it has a thing to do with how I view anything.)

The main lesson I believe I've learned in decades of posting
in this odd little place, is that human minds are shockingly
    fragile and feeble,

What is the thesis and proofs offered?
Measurement by the self of others consciousness is a symptom.
To me you are other who claims to be self who measures other.
You are often disturbed by what you imagine to be the inner state of other.

I do not bully other, and am not susceptible to bullying.
I can die, but always my judgement of other remains open to reevaluation.

Once again, I was just expressing an opinion. But I think everyone is
to some degree susceptible to bullying. Since we're all human beings,
    how could we not be?

But now, I have to ask. Do you not see that as a grandiose claim?
"I am not susceptible to bullying." That sounds like someone trying
to make himself out to be more than human.

and that they will do almost anything
to avoid a genuine examination of their own belief systems.
This has been a sobering discovery, to say the least.

The point of the metaphor is that when aggression is met by counter
    aggression,
an observer might place upon the counter aggressor the emotion state value of hate towards the original aggressor. A posit.

but... her primary motivation for whatever actions she may take
is love for her children and a strong desire to protect them.

So Mother Earth is ergo a conscious being protecting The Moon.
Hatred of the Sun is what might be perceived by the observer.

Well, I wasn't saying anything like that, of course. Sounds like
Gurdjieff or something. I didn't say Earth is a conscious being,
nor do I believe that. I was speaking of more simple facts:
again, literally all living things that we know of: arose on earth,
are composed of elements existing on earth, and are continually
supported by ecosystems of the earth, and in those real ways -
although I was speaking metaphorically - the earth is a 'mother'
to all that lives. And to continue in that vein, one could call
the Sun the 'father' of all life. For very similar reasons.
Photosynthesis is the foundation of the food chain for all life.

It's surprising the trouble you seem to have with such simple ideas.
And actually, it turns out that the Moon is a protector of the Earth
(the size of our moon holds the axial tilt of the Earth steady, thus
making the ongoing evolution of life possible here). Thus, you have
that one kind of backwards too.

    How Trump Betrays ‘Forgotten’ Americans
From the Supreme Court to labor organizing rules, the president undermines workers’ greatest champions.

    By Steven Greenhouse
Mr. Greenhouse is a former labor and workplace reporter for the Times.

    Sept. 3, 2018

Donald Trump promotes himself as a friend of “forgotten” workers, but in ways large and small his administration has undermined what has traditionally been the biggest champion of workers: labor unions.

Most recently, he used his authority as president to deliver a harsh Labor Day message to the 2.1 million people who work for him, canceling pay raises for the civilian employees of the federal government. In May, he issued three executive orders to
weaken federal employees’ unions by, among other things, limiting the subjects they can bargain over. (On Aug. 25, a judge ruled that this move violated federal law.) In March 2017, Mr. Trump signed a law repealing an executive order signed by
President Obama that sought to keep the federal government from awarding contracts to companies that violate laws protecting workers’ right to unionize, as well as wage and job safety laws.

Since taking office, Mr. Trump has installed a conservative majority on the National Labor Relations Board that has moved quickly to make it harder for unions to organize. Last December, the board overturned a rule, beloved by unions, that made it easier
to organize smaller units of workers in big factories and stores. In another board decision, his appointees made it tougher for workers at fast-food restaurants and other franchised operations to unionize, although that “joint
    employer” ruling was
vacated when a labor board member later recused himself because of a conflict of interest. The board is also looking to slow down unionization elections, a move that unions oppose because it would give corporations more time to pressure workers to vote
    against unionizing.

Mr. Trump’s first nominee to the Supreme Court, Neil Gorsuch, was the deciding vote in a case that delivered this year’s biggest blow to workers. In Janus v. AFSCME, the court’s conservative majority, in a 5-to-4 vote, ruled in June that government
employees can’t be required to pay any fees to the unions that bargain for them. By allowing many government workers to become “free riders,” that ruling is expected to chop revenues to many public employee unions by one-tenth
    to one-third.

With private-sector unions badly weakened by factory shutdowns and corporate resistance to unions, government employee unions have become the most powerful part of the labor movement. That’s one reason anti-union billionaires and foundations underwrote
the Janus litigation: to hobble the strongest part of labor. The Koch brothers and other billionaires have seized on Janus to finance efforts, through emails and door-to-door canvassing, to urge government workers — teachers, police, firefighters,
social workers and many others — to quit their unions and stop paying union fees.

It doesn’t look as if Mr. Trump’s latest nominee to the Supreme Court, Brett Kavanaugh, will be a friend to workers or unions. In an astonishingly anti-worker opinion in a case involving a SeaWorld trainer killed by an orca whale, Mr. Kavanaugh wrote
in 2014 that the Labor Department was wrong to fine SeaWorld. Dissenting in a 2-to-1 case, he suggested that the Labor Department should not “paternalistically” regulate the safety of SeaWorld’s trainers because they, like tiger tamers and bull
riders, were sports and entertainment figures who accepted the risk of injury in hazardous businesses that usually regulated their own dangers. His opinion had echoes of 19th-century state court rulings that factory workers assumed the
    risk of injuries
from machinery that cut off their hands.

Labor unions might get a boost from Mr. Trump’s efforts to increase coal, steel and aluminum production and from his push to renegotiate Nafta to spur domestic auto production. The Trump administration and many unions hope those moves will bring back
tens of thousands of mining and manufacturing jobs. That could lift unions’ ranks, but those gains would be a fraction of the losses expected from Janus. Some experts estimate that more than a million workers will quit their unions over the next few
years as a result of that ruling.

There has been some good news for labor. A new Gallup Poll found that public approval for unions has reached its highest level in 15 years. Unions have scored some significant victories recently, especially among white collar workers: adjunct professors
at many universities have unionized, and so have journalists at The Los Angeles
Times, The Chicago Tribune, The New Yorker, HuffPost and Slate, and graduate teaching assistants at Harvard, Columbia, Brandeis and other universities. There have also been
unionization gains among nurses and bus drivers as well as service-sector workers in Silicon Valley.

The labor movement in the United States is already far weaker than in any other
major industrialized nation. Just one in 10 American workers belongs to a union, down from more than one in three in the 1950s. But in the face of decades of fierce employer
resistance, compounded by the Trump administration’s hostility, unions are not making the gains they need to reverse their decline. If America’s unions don’t rebound, that will most likely mean even more income inequality and wage stagnation and
even more control of the levers of power by corporations and wealthy donors.

    ***

Yes. Even more income inequality. Wage Stagnation. Even more control
of power by corporations and wealthy donors. That's Trump.

Today is a good day to point out how Trump has been actively hostile
to labor unions, although public approval for them is now up. This is
as one might expect from a right-winger, yet not in keeping with
his endless rhetoric claiming to care about common American workers.
Almost everything he's really done proves he doesn't care at all.

    Senator Elizabeth Warren:

Yesterday, a senior official in the Trump Administration wrote an anonymous New
York Times op-ed that alleges that “the president continues to act in a manner that is detrimental to the health of our republic” and that the presidential cabinet does
not believe Donald Trump is mentally fit for office.

Given the instability many witnessed, there were early whispers within the cabinet of invoking the 25th Amendment, which would start a complex process for
removing the president. But no one wanted to precipitate a constitutional crisis.

Let’s be clear: We already have a constitutional crisis if the cabinet believes the President of the United States can’t do his job and then refuses
to follow the rules that have been laid down in the United States Constitution.
    They can’t have it
    both ways.

If the presidential cabinet believes that President Trump is “unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office” as the 25th Amendment states, then every minute they make excuses is a minute that our country is at risk.

If senior officials believe the president is unfit, they should stop hiding behind anonymous op-eds and leaking information to Bob Woodward boasting that they’re trying to save our country, and instead do what the Constitution demands they do: invoke
the 25th Amendment and remove this president from office.

This isn’t about politics – this is about the safety of our children, the national security of our nation, and the future of our democracy.

    ***

    Dat's what the lady said.
