### - suggest to vinny to 'turn-off' amazons' 'extended channels' as it's
a con + don't join the knp
with extended channels they 'purport' to provide additional coverage to
online retailers and book shops, and they do, only what they don't tell ya
is they have agreements with all those retailers to split your royalties
by 50% for the privilege, even to the point (and here's the really fucking cheeky part of it lol, possibly even fraud...) of competing directly with
the author: on his OWN amazon sales page???
thus you see your own offering and several others besides, ALL of them
amazon channel affiliates!
might be a BIT different if it wasn't on the SAME fucking page as his own listing!?
and because a percentage of idiots going to that page will potentially unwittingly buy from an affiliate thus halving your royalties! (35% via
those channels as opposed to 70% otherwise!)
PLUS... who's to ever say whether or no someone bought from one of 'them'
and they just didn't erm, mention it + kept all the royalties between
them themselves?? no one! there's no record unless (and until) they let
you know!
personally i think it borders on outright fraud + ditto with their
subscribed readership for which the author is only paid .06 (or less)
cents on the page while amazon rake in $12 (or whatever) per month from
its subscribers??
nah, turn all that off, it's safer... ya still get competition appearing
on your own sales page but they all NOW only 'equal' to your own price
instead of undercutting it + with usually higher postage...
even so, a small percentage of perhaps less discerning buyers will still
buy from them as they have dozens of ads right alongside your own! all
similar in retail price, and if so and one can literally kiss one's
royalties totally good buy!
AND if you join their knp bollocks (i think it's called...) you CAN'T sell
your OWN ebooks anywhere else??????? plus you're stuck with it for 3
months at a time and can't cancel out of it!
knp and extended channels shit? riiiight...
thieving rubbish :)
