Nope. Wrong again, slider. Fuck me, can't you read between the
lines? Kim sees the US as an existential threat to his regime (he has
3 kids now so the heir to the regime and continuation of the dynasty
is assured). Therefore, anything he does is better than simply
ceasing to exist - he believes that sooner or later, the US will
attack anyhow and that will be that.
He has seen what happened to those who *didn't* have nuclear weapons
and were attacked by the US - Iraq and Libya. If Iraq had developed
nuclear weapons, Bush and Blair would not have attacked.
So, he has developed nuclear weapons and the way and means to deliver
them to the US (and the UK and Australia). Like all good salesmen, he
is now advertising the fact. He will not start a war. The US will
not attack him. There will be some more demonstrations of his power
to resist the US, a lot of words exchanged between the two and then
things will settle.
He is acting from fear of destruction at the hands of the US like Iraq
and Libya. I would do the same in his place. No good having weapons
like nukes and delivery systems if the enemy doesn't know about it.
You don't think slider as a rule. When you do think, it's not
analytical thinking. You need to ask yourself - what would I do in
Kim's place? The answer - exactly what he's doing now. Setting up a
basis for equal negotiation.
