The 'Yanks' are STILL arresting hundreds of thousands for weed.
It has to be one of the stupidest most offensive things we've
ever done in this country (and are still doing).
ACLU - MARIJUANA ARRESTS BY THE NUMBERS
https://www.aclu.org/gallery/marijuana-arrests-numbers
Of the 8.2 million marijuana arrests between 2001 and 2010,
88% were for simply having marijuana. Nationwide, the arrest
data revealed one consistent trend: significant racial bias.
Despite roughly equal usage rates, Blacks are 3.73 times
more likely than whites to be arrested for marijuana.

It's a bizarre form of persecution. And is much worse for non-whites.
And this ridiculous shit has been going on for decades and decades.
It's pure insanity. Plus, Trump and Sessions are still doing what
they can to make it worse even after several states legalized it.
I thought it was crazy all along starting back when I was a teen.
Damn near all my friends smoked pot, and pretty much all of them became successful members of society - lawyers, doctors, CPAs, engineers, entrepreneurs, etc. Yet they made us feel like criminals just for
getting high. We were the cream of the crop and the cops chasing
us were goddamned Neanderthals by comparison. Clueless assholes.
Fuck Jeff Sessions and everyone like him! :)

It's still going on now.
Number of people arrested for a marijuana law violation in 2016: 653,249
Number of those charged with marijuana law violations who were arrested for possession only: 574,641 (89 percent)
That's 2016. Well over half-a-million Americans arrested
just for smoking weed. That's totally nuts.
Proportion of people incarcerated for a drug offense in state prison
who are Black or Latino, although these groups use and sell drugs at
similar rates as whites: 57 percent. That's racist bullshit.
Number of states that allow the medical use of marijuana:
29 + District of Columbia.
Number of states that have approved legally taxing and regulating
marijuana: 8 (Alaska, California, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts,
Nevada, Oregon and Washington).

So while 8 states have fully legalized, over 80% of the states
still haven't. And in 40% you still can't even get medical yet.
The state I'm from, Oklahoma, doesn't allow recreational use.
But at least the law as of July 1, 2017 made all cannabis possession
charges misdemeanors. Oklahoma adopted a CBD-specific marijuana law.
This allows certain qualifying patients to use CBD products to treat
their chronic and/or debilitating conditions. These patients have
access to liquid preparation of CBD products, which may not contain
over 3/10 of 1% of THC.
However, no medical marijuana dispensaries are operational in
Oklahoma at this time to make legal purchases of CBD products.
They're putting medical on the ballot in Oklahoma again this June.

We're still just barely crawling up out of the long Neanderthal times.
