It's Lucid Dreaming by Waggoner. I can't recall having uploaded this
for you all before but I lose track of these sorts of things so I
might be re-inventing the wheel. But it's only a recent guide (2015)
so it could be useful for you. The look of it is first rate and professional.
The advice:
Slider, regarding your book, you should transform its look into the
sort of professional, and therefore credible-appearing, tome Waggoner
has produced. Surely there's some way you can do it using Photoshop
and imagination?
### - it's not as straightforward as it perhaps looks to create a
professional book cover ya know?
of course, if ya can afford some top rank professional designer to make
one for you, IF ya have the several hundred dollars involved, then for
sure always go for that; otherwise it's gots to be a do-it-yourself jobby
sport :)
amazon do provide some pretty useful cover-tools, however, for would-be publishers self-publishing via them, the royalties actually being
'incredible' by comparison to 'any' more usual route and established independent publishing Co... and that's IF they even decide to publish
ya!? - NO comparison actually! (fabulous royalties from amazon!)
i.e., you'd be lucky to get anywhere between 7 and 12% from any more usual publishing house, whereas, via amazon, you get 35% on paperbacks!
(enormous!) and a whopping great 70% on ebooks?? fuck me! 70% man!? e.g., someone in oz recently bought a copy for $11.99aud, of which i directly received: $8.36aud net from amazon! (am responsible for paying my own tax
etc) and THAT's not fucking bad for one unit electronically delivered!
thus selling say 10,000 copies to oz (not a totally impossible number, one day...) would thus net me $83,600aud!!! the only way i could possibly earn
more than that being if i personally distributed it? which i still can!
and do via my website! (am offering same direct for less to the purchaser (=$9.09 aud) but actually earn $.76aud more on the deal; perforce minus
paypal fees of 4% so bang goes my profit straight out the fuckin' window
right there! lol :))) so fuck it, let amazon do all the work of
advertising & delivering etc etc and everything for exactly the same money
to moi, a no brainer! (only way i'd more on ebooks being to increase the
cost per unit on my site and i don't really wanna do that; i'd actually
like to lower it and might still heh...)
paperback ARE different, however (no paperbacks available in oz as the
postage is more than the cost of the book?? lol!), and something could
indeed be done there to cut amazon right 'out' of the deal altogether and
cut someone else in?
e.g., because i own the ISBN on the book independently of amazon, i can
thus authorize any publisher in oz to print and dispatch paperback
versions of same, even possibly at less cost than amazon typically charges
to most countries via their website (oz is currently an exception as
amazon don't appear to have any printing machines + the support in oz to
print them, but presumably will do in some capacity some day because it
makes sense to do so...)
so, do ozzies generally not 'buy' books then or summat? (grinz...) 'coz
there has to be 'some' reason why amazon haven't gotten around to
installing themselves in oz too for paperbacks etc? (ebooks only on their
ozzy amazon site currently?) and which is partly why i asked you one time
if you'd maybe be maybe interested in the exclusive publishing rights in
oz and the surrounding south seas area? (Philippines etc) as i'd defo
rather give it to someone like you than to amazon! -why it's a veritable license to print money, me old fruit! :)
provided you could drum up the sales for same that is lol (i offered you
quite a reasonable deal involving all that as it goes, summat along the
lines of not having to give anything to moi until you'd recouped all your
'own' costs first, and then splitting any profits from then on 50/50? -
you set it all up, generate sales via advertising, print & distribute it yourself, plus pay nada to moi until you personally broke even... + 50/50
(on profits-only) after that...)
a bit of a gambol for ya for sure, but because the profit margin is so
great not totally impossible via good advertising! you'd have to pay for
all that up-front of course '(coz am potless 'ere mate for anything like
that lol...) but with the 'right' advertising, sales would more or less be assured, eventually heh, no doubt about it! but would prolly still take a
while (via enough sales i mean) to get your investment back; but not
forever what with 100% of the profits going back to you until you did
so... i don't get any money until then but i do get the publicity +
growing readership in the meantime in those areas from it + money too
later once + after you've broken even :)
ditto america too why not? - same deal - any takers? (riiight... :)
i.e., advertising is 'everything' today! with more or less guaranteed
returns etc on virtually any product eventually, providing ya advertise it enough! - it is, however, a rather unique product but not a totally
unknown one - AND it's a novel version of same! one probably most aspiring lucid dreamers will want to read at some point anyway? (60 published book
on dilds - versus only ONE book on WILDing! so far! do the math!) plus
there will be more books on WILDs and not only from me! WILDs being the flipside of dilds AND easier to do; everyone's gonna be hearing about
WILDs eventually + that's only the peeps currently interested in the
subject; the mainstream public haven't even 'heard' that much yet about
lucid dreaming per se, let alone WILDing, but awareness of it is slowly creeping up with movies like inception and vanilla sky + others... it's
only really just getting going out there!
i wouldn't hesitate to do it here in the uk if i'd had the funds, but lol
i don't so that's that; word of mouth perforce it has to be! but there
must be at least a million peeps in the world today currently interested
in the subject + who'd possibly buy a copy of mine just out of interest if
they got to hear of it... all of them having probably bought at least
'one' of the other 60+ dildo books on the subject! :)
what a shame am not 'already' a millionaire eh? - yet! ;)
When you've done that, I recommend uploading it to a torrent site for
free distribution. Most torrenteers (I refuse to call us pirates what fucking nonsense) are fairly smart and will spread the word if they
like it. There are always those who will track it down on Amazon or
track *you* down, if you provide contact somewhere on Amazon for
instance. It's got to be a lot better than the publication dead-end
you are presently in, making fuck all money (after all, what's the
objective old man?)
### - i may in fact do precisely that at some point sport...
more people get to read it and the book gets slowly advertised/circulated
drm is (supposedly + according to amazon) already active on the current
ebook, but am not sure how that all works to any real effect in real time?
the money/royalty side of it's pretty good though as mentioned above; it's
good advertising for same to drive sales that i lack...
I may be able to help professionalise it. I have the copy you posted
for me so I can work on that perhaps. I doubt you securitised it...
### - drm IS active on it according to amazon, they installed it, but
again am not sure how that all works in real time to any effect? but
please show me what you can do...
so what, ya don't like the cover?? (laffing coz i designed it :)))
Anyhow, there's the epub by Waggoner for you to download and admire
(for presentation at least). That's how you do it. And where do you
think I got this publication?
### - don't seem that much different to mine, at least on the inside?
not too mad on his cover either lol, he must have literally paid 1000's
for it??
mine was free! (cracking up hehehe, yeah yeah and it shows! i know! but i
like it so fuck off! j/k :)))
“There is a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in.”
Leonard Cohen
### - cracking-up here boss!
the future's so bright i need shades! :)))
