    The panel agreed to the following age categories:
    •Newborn: 0-3 months
    •Infant: 4-11 months
    •Toddler: 1-2 years
    •Preschooler: 3-5 years
    •School-age: 6-13 years
    •Teenager: 14-17 years
    •Young adult: 18-25 years
    •Adult: 26-64 years
    •Older adult: =65 years

    Results and recommendations:

    Newborns 0-3 months 14 - 17 hrs
    Infants 4-11 months 12 to 15 hrs
    Toddlers1-2 y 11 to 14 hrs
    Preschoolers 3-5 y 10 to 13 hrs
    Schoolaged 6-13 y 9 to 11 hrs
    Teenagers14-17 y 8 to10 hrs
    Young adults18-25 y 7 to 9 hrs
    Adults26-64 y 7 to 9 hrs
    Older adults 65 y 7 to 8 hrs
