Bullshit Slider. This clock has been around since the 1950's and
includes factors such as cloning and genetic modification, climate
change and so on as a rationale for the clock status as an apocalypse indicator.
There is no algorithm - that is, no simultaneous equation or linear programming or whatever comprising variables referencing the commonly expected causes of our species' demise - eg x=nuclear war probability
(say as a factor of imminence, risk, statesmens' state of mind -
however that could be quantified - warhead decay etc etc etc); z =
risk of AI wiping out our species and perhaps all organic things -
again, millions of different variables just plugging into this one
factor...

based on current threats to humanity...
