### - haha this item made me laff :)))
i.e., churches in england, apparently seriously struggling to make ends
meet through the pandemic due to absolutely no one going to them and thus
a lack of donations, have started a new trend in people paying to camp overnight (or longer) in them as an indoor alternative to outdoor
camping?? (really laffing)
the NAME they've given to this strange new pursuit - a combination of the
terms church & camping - being that of 'champing' and the people who
partake of it: champers...
e.g., "Champing™ is the unique concept of camping overnight in historic churches, brought to the world by The Churches Conservation Trust, the
national charity protecting historic churches at risk.
https://champing.co.uk/
Thousands of happy Champers have stayed in our churches and have delighted
in having exclusive use of an ancient space for the night. Don’t forget
that by supporting Champing, you’re also helping to preserve these ancient spaces for the future. So what are you waiting for, come on in, we’ve got
so much to show you!"

am just, however, gonna call them what they REALLY are?
