    So, not a problem, but something that I don't understand:

    I went from running SBBS on an XP system with 3GB of RAM and a Hybrid SATA drive, 1.6 Ghz Core 2 duo chip, to a comparable Win 10 32-bit system with the same RAM, CPU, and an SSD in place of the SATA drive. Pretty much copied over the folder from one
    system to the other.

    When I save messages, the "Writing Index..." message lingers on for about a second, maybe a little less. On the old system, it'd disappear so quickly it barely registered.

    Running an HD speed test on the SSD shows expected speeds.

    Any ideas what's going on here?

    Not immediately. A lot of things happen when saving a new messaes, so some profiling would need to be done to identify the bottleneck there.
