    What is creating them automatically for you (what editor are you
    using)? Your message editor shouldn't automatically add " > " in front
    of text that you're writing in messages. The " > " is only for quoted
    text.

    Ecweb4 is creating them not me.

    I think DM made a change recently re: saving messages with UTF-8 body text. Perhaps this is related and has already been fixed? Otherwise I have no idea what you're talking about. What's wrong with the apostrophe? What are "some other chars"? What's
    the problem? Describe the issue or it won't get fixed.

    I'm pretty sure sure he's talking about the UTF-8 "Right Single Quotation Mark"
    (https://unicode-table.com/en/2019/) being used in place of an ASCII apostrophe
    (39, 0x27), of course that's something that his device/browser is doing, but accommodations
    needed to be in ecwebv4.

    That should be fixed now.
