Exporting Of Avatars

I am
having to select my avatar on every system. The starange thing is, I'm seeing other systems avatars on my system. Have I possably missed something in the setup. I followed the setup to the letter, and I have both import and export enabled. What am I missing, or do I have to manually set my avatar on every system?
No, that's the design. There could be another "Digital Man" on another BBS in DOVE-Net (god forbid) and I wouldn't want my chosen avatar to be assigned to *that* Digital Man.

In the (almost) 11 years I've been running Synchronet and reading Dove-Net, only now have I run into another person using 'Nightfox' as a handle on another BBS on Dove-Net. I have been using 'Nightfox' since 1994 and had seen references to other Nightfoxes on the internet but have never run into another one personally until recently..
Got it, but your right, there can never be a duplication of a DesotoFireflite or a Digital Man, both are one of a kind :)
If you have the avatar-export event configured then yes, this should be happening.

Your system has exported avatars; they have propagated to my system (one for you, one for Mojo).
Avatars are unique to a user+origin pair, which is to say that the avatar you choose for yourself on a given BBS will only be shown alongside messages that you send from that BBS.

Yes. We don't have a network-wide alias reservation system, so there could be a different DesotoFireflite somewhere, but there will only be *one* DesotoFireflight@VAHALLA. :-)

Maybe more avatars on different genres.

Yes, because I need to show my support for various nations that some may not like. ;)

Now if only the author of Multimail could add avatar support, so I can see them. :)

You'd need access to the SBBSDATA echo as part of your multimail feed,
and it would need to keep a local database.
I do think a web service lookup would be a good idea for other clients
to integrate with. Though it might bloat the output, even having the author avatar as a header in the qwk packet as an option for each
message or extension file might be an idea as well.
