how do you ul with ftelnet?
how do you ul with ftelnet?
The fTelnet instance you're using has to have file transfer support included. It also seemingly needs to have the menu bar enabled and visible so that you can find and click the 'Upload' button. I got this far and couldn't get it to transfer a file, and I don't care enough to go further.
I've heard you can use the YModem-G protocol to transfer files with fTelnet. I haven't actually done any file transfers with it though..

I attempted a YModem G transfer last night. No go. Maybe it works in some browsers, etc.
worked on my bbs using chrome.
did you choose download from the menu
not on ios version there isn't.

how do you ul with ftelnet?
fTelnet can be configured to have a bar of options at the top, and one of them is "Upload". You can use the YModem-G to transfer files with fTelnet.

Are you using it from a website, or as an app?
If it's on a website, my previous points stand: the site you're using it on has to be serving fTelnet with transfers enabled, and with the menu available.

I was attempting an upload, and chose that from the menu. Also using Chrome.
Maybe The Millionaire would have better luck with the ftelnet app; not sure how that is on IOS. My understanding is he's trying to do this from an iPad.
yeah and causing a lot of headaches for me especially in the u/l dept. haven't figured that one out yet. if someone does have an ipad and can u/l, please help me as i can't seem to solve this problem myself
does dm have this option enabled on his system?

Here is an idea, use a real computer. That would solve your headache and then you could stop causing the rest of us one.
Or here is a novel idea, do some research yourself. I'm pretty sure you could use google on your ipad without needing to upload anything. There you will
find what I did, no known way of uploading using legacy protocols such as Y-modem and Z-Modem and an iPad.

Yep. I always thought someone with an interest in running a BBS (or
using them) would be the type of person to have a real desktop PC or laptop, where this wouldn't be an issue.

If you're talking about bbs.synchro.net (or web.synchro.net), I only recently made this available
in the web UI that it uses. DM would need to take a couple of extra steps to enable it.
I've sent him the relevant info. I'm sure he'll turn it on if he thinks it's a worthwhile feature.
no im talking about the one that nightfox uses. it has ul and dl on it and even a big keyboard with the windows logo on it. it's pretty cool.

IIRC to make this available, you will need the latest versions of:
lib/ftelnet.js
pages/.examples/000-home.xjs (copied to pages/)
And in modopts.ini->[web]:
ftelnet_xfer = true
ftelnet_menubar = true
no im talking about the one that nightfox uses. it has ul and dl on it and even a big keyboard with the windows logo on it. it's pretty cool.
I just tried updating those files in my ecwebv4 and setting those options in my modopts.ini. I see the menu bar, but I don't see a file transfer option. In the menu pop-up, I see Connect, Disconnect, Copy, Paste, Keyboard, and Full Screen.
You're talking about this page where Nightfox is using an old, old version of fTelnet:

Ah yes - I forgot to mention that the file transfer option won't show up right away. It should be there if you reload the page 24 hours from now.
You can also delete /sbbs/temp/ftelnet.url (or, as it apparently appears on my system, /sbbs/ctrl/tempftelneturl, whoops) to force a refresh.
