Where does tickit write log information? I'm trying to track down when it
runs and when files are received, but can't find anything in my logs.

Looking at the .js file it looks like it's logging errors to error.log in
my system logs directory, but I don't see any log showing normal
    processing.

it writes to the standard log location where all your other sbbs-related logging is written... in my case, it is written to my /var/logs/syslog file and i have to grep the data out of all the normal system related loggings...

How about for Windows? I don't see anything in ../data/logs or in fido.log...

If you're running the Synchronet Control Panel and tickit.js as a timed event, then the log output would only go to the "Events" window, not to any file on disk.

If you're running the Synchronet Control Panel and tickit.js as a timed event, then the log output would only go to the "Events" window, not to any file on disk.

That would apply as well if tickit is called by binkit receiving an inbound TIC? It'd be nice to find a way to log it, getting that data logged would be a good first step to an announcement/reporting app that posted new files.

Then it would depend on how BinkIt was run.

Sure. I think all the events not being logged to disk is a shortcoming of the Windows version of sbbs. It sounds like you want a tickit-specific log file, which would require some modifications to the tickit script. Not hard, but a job for someone who actually uses that script (not me).

    Yes...

in my case, it is written to
my /var/logs/syslog file and i have to grep the data out of all
    the normal system related loggings...

A possible better solution is to have all the SBBS logging go to
it's own log. I've done that here and it works great. Then I
keep a terminal window open 'tailing' that log, and another
terminal window also tailing that log, grepping for 'tickit'.
Helps me keep track of incoming files seperately from normal log
    stuff.

This is of course assuming one is running SBBS on Unix/Linux. In
Windows it appears in the various panes of the SBBS Control Panel,
but not sure if it gets saved/logged anywhere.

It's described on the Wiki here:

i have no idea... it should be writing to the same place as the rest of your sbbs logging... i didn't mess with any of the logging stuff... not where it writes to, anyway...
