There is an option that you can enable the system to send them there password after so many login attempts it will prompt them with the quest. you can enable it in the control pannel under BBS then edit and modules.

    hope this helps

If they forget it, probably be best to go through a challenge routine to rese D>it. I thought I saw a mod for that back in the day -- maybe it was a WWIV mo

I have a Password Policy online, telling them what to do, if they lose
or forget their password...as well as password safety information.

What's worse, is that it happened to ME on MY BBS many years ago...but
I was logged on from my girlfriend's apartment, and the BBS was still at
my parents home. I moved out before I got married...but since I became
disabled during our marriage, I stayed at the apartment (H.U.D.
subsidized housing for the disabled) after her death. However, with
having to put my Mom in a nursing home last fall, I ended up moving back
to what was my parents home...now mine. My Dad died not 3 months before
my wife died, 12 years ago.

Anyway, at the time, I was running GT Power under dial-up. I dialed
in, connected, hit the F1 macro, and nothing happened. Then, it hit me
    light a bolt of lightning.

    1) You're not at the host console.
    2) You don't know your password.
    3) You can't logon to your own BBS.

Please pass the salted crow and a slice of humble pie. :P

Now, with the Matrix Logon, I tell users to Email Feedback To Sysop,
with pertinent info to identify them, along with an email address
(which should be the one they entered at logon). If the data matches, I
send them their password from outside the BBS.

I think that does that only if you're not using a logon matrix module,
such as the one from Pistolgrip. If there's a separate setting in SCFG
or the control panel for that, I'd like to know about it.

Right now, the menu tells them to "Email Feedback To Sysop" with
information to verify your identity, and I'll email your password back
    outside the BBS".
