    From what Steve Winn (current developer) noted, "the entire code of
    the tosser (VFIDO) would have to be completely redone to fix the
    problem". And, apparently, he has too much going on in his life to
    devote to doing such.

    quite frankly, bullshit... i added a MSGID routine to an app i had never seen before that someone else was attempting to work with... it was quite simple to add another pascal unit with the necessary routines and then use the one routine that was needed... that app hasn't produced any dupes since... the same thing could easily be done in any other language... hell, just use a simple serial number that increments on each use and that'll fix it as long as the operator doesn't overwrite the data file containing the serial number data when they continually restore backups over and over ;)
