Hello Digital Man,
I am helping Marisag with a new QWK/FTN network and have a couple questions about QWK networking.
Looking at the QWK: -> Change Packet Configuration menu for a QWK node I see the questions...
1. Include VOTING.DAT File
Is that a new feature that requires Synchronet 3.17+?
Yes. Earlier versions of Synchronet will just ignore that file (well, actually, it'll get imported into a data/qnet/*.in directory).
2. Include HEADERS.DAT File
What is that option for
HEADERS.DAT is how Synchronet gets around all the QWK limitations (e.g. 25-char message subjects).
, and does it require a specific version of
Synchronet?
It'll be ignored (treated like any other extra file in a QWK packet) by versions of Synchronet older than 3.15b (10 years old now).
