Hello There,
Of late I have been having an issue with "All nodes Busy" or busy files that keep Fidopoll or Mutil from running. Last weekend I was away and
when I got home I found that Mystic hadn't polled out in a couple days.
I had assumed that Mutil and/or Fidopoll would normally remove the busy file upon program termination. Also lately if were to do a manual poll using Fidopoll I am told that Fidopoll is already running when upon checking I find that it is in fact not running and file a busy file in
the semaphore directory. When I delete the busy file then I can poll
fine. For the moment I can create a Bash script that will test for a "Stale" busy file and if exists remove prior to running the necessary program. Any thoughts or anyone else seeing this behavior?

I'm curious, what version of Mystic?
I know there were versions a
while ago that had semaphore issues, but the latest (latest is 1.12
A43) few versions have no issues in this regard. Also, this assumes a clean shutdown of Mystic and its utilities at all times. My Mystic
FTN hub runs pretty much hands off these days, and no file locking
issues.
It's also possible, though I haven't seen it, that Fidopoll is
crashing in the middle of doing something. What do your logs say - is there any sign of an incomplete session, just before things go pear shaped? As I said, I haven't seen any stability issues with Mystic or
its utilities, but just covering all bases.

What OS ver Jeff?
Do you use fidopoll killbusy all to clear the bsy? I would recommend
that as the best tool to do so.

The error log shows:
2019.16.07 14:04:48 MUTIL 000 Runtime error 1
The Fidopoll log shows:
Jul 12 04:59:03 Connecting to bbs.ouijabrd.net
Jul 12 04:59:03 Using address 65.103.12.161
Jul 12 04:59:03 Connected IPV4 to 65.103.12.161

The above execution looks to have failed to complete. And there are
no log entries after the above 7/12 entry until the 7/16 entry when
I manually cleared the existing busy files.
