Hello Robert,
I would prefer to use Internet Rex in place of the Mystic binkp server a seems to be much more reliable. I was wondering if anyone had a Mystic like this and if so, would they mind sharing their setup information wit rest of us?
What sort of problems are you experiencing? I ask because I have/am running Mystic on Windows32/Lin64/Pi3 and Mystics Binkp server is one of the things that I have had the least trouble with. The only time I have had connection issues. It turned out that I was the cause of the issue.
No inference is intended on my part Robert. Years ago I did try Rex to evaluate its functionality and didn't care for it. I have on several occasions used BinkD in addition to BBBS's and Mystic Binkp server to handle/separate the flow.

Yeah, but I use Internet Rex to fetch/send newsgroups since Mystic is
not able to do this yet. The only problem is that I can't get IREX to
see the outbound packet locations from Mystic. I was wondering if
Mystic uses binkp format files, etc, so that I can get Internet Rex to
see the packets.
Mystic uses BSO (Binkley Style Outbound) for its directory structure.
Files can be either .pkt or compressed bundles, depending on what's configured for the node. I know nothing about Internet Rex, but it's
also worth asking others what they use to get newsgroups.
Ok, this is what I need to know. I will have to play with that and see what I can come up with. Need to get my GigaNews bill paid for first, though :)
You might like to look at 'directory' style fidopoll as an option too
;)
Unfortunately, I do not believe that is an option for a mailer type when using Internet Rex.

I know I have TG/2 set up to get and send newsgroups with FastEcho/2
and Internet Rex/2 without any issues. But, to have that ability in Mystic would also been cool to have.
I should add that Mystic is also fully 5D compliant, so make sure
you're looking where the outbound packets should be (under the domain
tree, not simply in the primary outbound).
I'm sure you'll work it out. I don't know how TG/2 arranges its
outbound mail, but Mystic is definitely 5D BSO.

What I can share with you is not anything negative about Internet Rex
node attempting to get it working. I am sure it is a fine program. I c
you what my experience has been. I have node trying to get things off ground wishing to use Internet Rex, but the node seems have trouble authenticating. This node also has mystic of which I have done by best
him as others have helped me. Mystic is a fine program that simply is forward it does not need anything outside of it self to get it to func well. As far as I am concerned Mystic has high reliability.
