After that it was working fine for me. I'll try to spend a bit more
time this weekend to fix up the CD<dir> function so that doesn't break things but in the meantime I believe using the batch file should get you where you need to be.

Thanks g00r00 I appreciate you helping me, I tried your suggestion and I still get the NTVDM error with the popup.

I'll wait until you are finished with it and try it again.

So I missed this bit the first time I read it.

"abridge.exe /local" works in a DOS window, but instead of ANSI images I get cra p. The game doesn't crash tho I can read and use the menus.

    Could that crash NTVDM?

Do you have the contents of dx.rar in your root as per the documentation?

Can you tell me where to download the door you're trying to run I can try to set it up here and see what happens. I have a Windows XP machine I can try it on.

Yep, those are the files I currently have in c:\mystic.

Thanks! I had a chance to take a look and there seems to be a problem with that CD<dir> function when using the DX menu command.

For now I was able to get it working by creating "abridge.bat" and then executing the batch file.

    Menu Command: DX
    Data: c:\mystic\doors\abridge.bat %P

    The contents of abridge.bat was:

    cd c:\mystic\doors\abridge
    abridge /P%1

After that it was working fine for me. I'll try to spend a bit more time this weekend to fix up the CD<dir> function so that doesn't break things but in the meantime I believe using the batch file should get you where you need to be.

Wow that was quick, I installed this and I can say that the logging is working fine and I can now run games successfully without netfoss. This includes a couple that would not run properly under netfoss. So I'm pretty stoked for SSH logins now.

I did notice that after a game runs then exits the NTVDM.exe does not exit like it should. After converting/testing a batch of games I found 5 ntvdm's running in task manager. is there a switch or something I can add to the DX data line to prevent this or does dosxtrn do this normally and I am missing something?

I dug around in event manager and found these two errors, thought they might help, they come as a pair when ntvdm crashes at game exit.

There should be a build here for macOS now! I must have accidentally deleted it, sorry about that!

    Ok thanks!

    Great to hear!

As far as the exit crash, I am looking at the event viewer on my test system and I do not see any crashes here except for the previous tests before the recent fix. I have only tested with Arrowbridge though so maybe I can try a different door?

What version of Windows are you using? I am testing under Windows XP using the dx.rar contents.

I'm running win7, I do have that virtual winXP test box I was using for the previous mystic version. I'll go spin that up and upgrade/test and get back to you.

I wonder if win7 is going flakey...

Let me know how it goes! If I can find a way to reproduce an issue I'll do my best to get it cleaned up. If you still see the same problem in XP let me know again exactly what your menu command looks like and I'll paste that into mine just to make sure its identical character for character.
