Are you talking about adding message areas? If you address these type of messages to SBBS no one will ever seen them and SBBS will add or drop the area as you request. You can also telnet into your QWK account and connect the areas
you want to be connected to.

Sending messages to SBBS is just one way to configure your setup.

I'm having a hard time with ubuntu server. (I think) I never had these problems setting up message areas on windows. There is some kind of permission problem and it's making me nuts trying to figure it out. And I REALLY don't like the "SMC" crap! Thanks for letting me vent.

I've seen your other venting messages... perhaps its time for a different approach. Maybe a different OS and/or BBS software?

I'm guessing you're running Synchronet? What permissions issues? All I've ever had to do on Linux is:

chown -R sbbs.sbbs /sbbs

Where sbbs is the user and group name of the user SBBS runs as, and /sbbs is the root of my Synchronet tree.
