Is there a way for Mystic to gate a sub from one network to another, or is
this something I need to use an external tosser for?

Define 'gate' for me. Are you talking about changing the format of the
contents from one type of message packets to another to fit a different
    system?

No, talking about gating an echo from one FTN network to another. Or mailing list, newsgroup into an echo. The first is the most important though. Just something I have on my todo list.

Used to be an elebbs_support echo I would like to revive. While there isn't a ton of traffic, between the mailing list and newsgroup there is enough to warrant trying to revive the fido echo.

Just be aware there can be a backlash from some when you start to gate
content between Usenet <> FTN style systems. Some folks feel it's not to be done. I copped flack when I gated the Usenet X-Files newsgroup in to the FTN X-FILES echo.

No, talking about gating an echo from one FTN network to another. Or

Well I tested this out just now but did not get very far.

I created a bogus echonode on a different zone:net/node address then added to the export for fsx_gen echoarea and got this result

    [snip]

    + Oct 15 13:25:52 Resuming from 18028 in fsx_gen
    + Oct 15 13:25:52 Export FSX_GEN #18029 to 21:1/100@fsxnet
    + Oct 15 13:25:52 Export FSX_GEN #18029 to 345:1/1@wowo
    ! Oct 15 13:25:52 Domain mismatch; Skipping (Base=21:1/101@fsxnet)
    - Oct 15 13:25:52 1 msgs from General Chat

    [snip]

So I then set up a base with two different bogus NETs attached to it, made it echomail type and then set the address to 0:0/0

I posted two messages to the test area/echo but no joy either.,

    [snip]

    + Oct 15 13:30:06 Resuming from 8 in testarea
    + Oct 15 13:30:06 Export TEST_A #8 to 345:1/1@wowo
    ! Oct 15 13:30:06 Domain mismatch; Skipping (Base=0:0/0@)
    + Oct 15 13:30:06 Export TEST_A #8 to 423:1/1@bobo
    ! Oct 15 13:30:06 Domain mismatch; Skipping (Base=0:0/0@)
    + Oct 15 13:30:06 Export TEST_A #9 to 345:1/1@wowo
    ! Oct 15 13:30:06 Domain mismatch; Skipping (Base=0:0/0@)

    - Oct 15 13:30:06 2 msgs from Testing Area 1

So to answer that part of your question... I think not. :)

Yeah, that's about as far as I've gotten. Probably can do it with fmail or fastecho and do it that way. Or as a point with a second copy of mystic and mutil just for the gating. IDK. I'll look more in a couple of days. The wife will be out of town for a conference Monday and Tuesday so I will have a
    little free time.

The good thing (sort of) is that elebbs_support is a dead echo now but I keep seeing posts on the newsgroup as well as an occasional ELE question in the RA echoes. Just want to make something available. Don't run it anymore but I am still a big fan of EleBBS

This reminds me of a time that I ran RA and then EleBBS, however I did not start to out this way.
In the beginning I ran Wildcat, loved it and and so did the users, then I joined Fidonet, I turned to Santronics Software for Platinum Xpress mailer. This created a rift within my net, I heard so many times, around here we run RA. The configuration was actually passed from system to system, hardly any creativity among them. Then I ran EleBBS an RA clone. When Hector Santos purchased Mustang's Wildcat BBS, in my opinion this meant the end to Wildcat as I knew it.

Today I am the NC of my Net. Net267 covering all of New York State.

I am quite happy with Mystic hope soon to be more and more familiar with it
as I continue to enjoy it.

I do as well, pick up the newsgroup from fsX. What I am wanting to do is gate it to the old elebbs_support fido echo as well. Posted a message in a couple
of places to give people a chance to respond before I do anything anyhow.

I would not reccomend it... first of off you will be accused of
"Hijacking" the echo since it was origionally a Z2 echo... second
those who do not accuse you of Hijacking the echo will go nutso on you
    for gating usenet into fidonet.

Just trust me... from my experiences it is not pleasant and it's more acceptable to offer it as a straight up two way newsgroup as an echo.

I'm not so worried about that as I am the techincal aspects of it. I'm pretty thick skinned and just looking to get it back into circulation. I have pretty much decided to hold off though on cross-linking it just due to message spam and the like.

I have the echo set up here and it's available for anyone that wants to pick
it up. What I wouldn't mind doing eventually is to find someone that still
has the older messages that I could pick up a rescan. There is some valuable info there. Ozzmosis has it on their archive system so I need to send Andrew Clarke an email I guess. Not at the top of my list right now but I'll get around to it eventually.
