Got the rar/unrar on my Pi but when I run the unrar on nr20b18l.rar it
extracts the files as folders? so what am I doing wrong?

Are you using the command: unrar e <filename>

This always works for me on Linux.

That's not for Pi or any ARM processor, it's the x86 version. There never was
a Netrunner 2.0 for the pi, only a couple of 1.0 versions. Most of us use Nodespy from the Mystic BBS (A31) to do that. A few have managed to compile SyncTERM for Pi, I never have. Nodespy is very well made, most of us ssh to
the BBS machine and run nodespy from there. When it downloads it will put it
in the mystic root directory, it will 'download' from the BBS or any BBS. With A29+ it will work via IT (telnet out) so Gryphon's gy-blam21 will get you to most BBS. That method will work via putty as well as normal ssh from pretty much any OS.

From what I see Zazz is right on the unrar command of the pi:

I have a working version of Syncterm and Netrunner for the Pi. It uses SDL2 though, so you need that installed. If you don't have SDL2 installed, they will just default to a native terminal.

I suppose I could package up the compiled versions and make them available
    for use.

I have a version of NR2. It is NetRunner v2.00 BETA 19. g00r00 sent it to
me for testing because he didn't have a working Pi environment. I *suppose*
I could make it available, but I don't know what g00r00's wishes on it would be, since he sent it to only me.
