• Pre-alpha 39 for Linux

From KrUpTiOn@21:2/105 to All on Saturday, March 31, 2018 01:31:51
There seems to be a problem with fidopoll hanging when it polls mail from a event. I have to 'fidopoll killbusy all' to get it to finish twice manually. Also, when my hub connects and it exits with the semaphore to toss mail, it hangs and crashes with a error I can't see. When I upgradeded I copyed all
the binary files from the new install. ran the mpl for the scripts. I had to downgrade back to the previous version and everything works great as it did when avon fixed it :) :(

    Regards,
    KrUpTiOn

The A39's are all prealpha at this point. There will likely be an regular A39 release when g00r00 has got things the way he wants them.

The final 1.12 A39 has not been released (as of when I type this :)) so what we're seeing are pre-alpha builds for Windows and Linux of 1.12 A39 and those are being updated on an almost daily to weekly basis as g00r00 works on it.

The best way to tell which version you have is to run mystic -ver to see the date/time of the build ... you will also see this in the tear line of
echomail posted by each system running a pre-alpha build.. check my tearline below :)

    Hope that helps :)

    Best, Paul

Yes, there are a number of versions, that's why the date was added:
    v1.12 A39 Linux/64 Compiled 2018/04/01 17:21:30
g00r00 is working on a 4/2 compile as nodespy had issues at least with
Linux/64 like I was testing. In the case of Linux ./mystic -ver will show
the message above. In the 4/1 version nodespy seems to have been the major issue. Just don't use it and the rest likely works OK. SyncTERM and other things, even older nodespy used from somewhere else should work.

You could put a39 in a separate directory and test out it's new features from there and once you are happy with it upgrade your BBS.

The prealphas are moving targets and are updated frequently so that is something you need to keep in mind.. :)

I copied in a new Prompts (default.txt) file a couple weeks ago. Came
    directly from an A39 pre-release.

Was this before or after we switched to having 3 BBS's running from a
single copy of mystic? In other words, did you see login information
right away or did you see the Options for 1) Mystic, 2) Magicka, 3) Searchlight. If the latter is the case, there may be additional issues
with using the Matrix Menu for New User Signup and need to adjust the
menu to allow for it. It shouldn't be a prompts issues. I'll look into
it further. Chuck made those changes, but I haven't tested them out yet.

Sounds like I have my ToDo thing for tonight.

This brings up another point. I've been blocked before too and with all
the remote testing I do we ended up having to put my IP address in the whitelist just to get it to stop blocking me. Periodically Chuck will go
into the blocked list and it's a mile long.

    Why is that happening?
