• New prealphas coming soon

From g00r00@21:1/108 to All on Thursday, March 29, 2018 22:33:29
I am in the middle of building some new prealphas and I will be sending them over to Avon within the next hour.

This will fix the Linux socket/connectivity issue some have been reporting
with FidoPoll and also with the terminal server dropping connections.

I am expecting this build to be the most stable of any release so far. Prove
    me wrong! :)

Ooooo, that sounds like a challenge... ;)

In all seriousness. Keep up the great work. I'm really loving the
    improvements!

    I grabbed the A39 prealpha listed as "mys112a39_l64.rar 2018-03-30 16:13 905K"

But when installed turned out to be the same as the version that I had been running. Namely, "Version 1.12. A39 2018/3/26". Which not surprisingly responded with the same socket error.

I will wait and check back later.

I decided to try again. The file listed looked to be the same but the actual file received was different this time.

    Upon installation I now see:

    FIDOPOLL Version 1.12 A39 2018/03/29

    And upon execution I get:

    FIDOPOLL Version 1.12 A39 2018/03/29

Let me know if you want me to put them up on Orbit BBS. Not a problem to
host the prealphas, plenty of space and I'm happy to help.

I'll leave that to g00r00 to make the call on as I am unsure how widely he wants them (pre-alphas) replicated?

I guess the only risk I can see is that the file names don't reveal the build date/time so it may become a tad confused if such files are replicated more widely. It may lead to uncertainty as to which is the 'latest' version depending on where it was downloaded from? Not sure but those are some
thoughts off the top of my head :)

    Very good sir :)

Yes, that could present a problem if both mirrors do not have the same files. If g00r00 sees this message and would like another space for the pre-alphas,
I am more than happy to help with hosting them.

    Thanks!
