• Mystic .TIC file issue

    From Black Panther@21:1/186 to G00r00 on Monday, March 26, 2018 20:47:06
    Hi g00r00,

I think there is a slight issue with the forwarding of files with attached
    .TIC files to downlinks.

If multiple files come in with the same file name (different extensions), Mystic will only create one .TIC file.

I am running a38 Compiled 2018/01/01 14:50:45 on Linux/64. I know this is an older version...

Here is a snippet from my logs:

    Mar 22 22:04:42 Sending: spordiff.z82 (453 bytes)
    Mar 22 22:04:42 S: FILE spordiff.z82 453 1521756230 0

    Mar 22 22:04:43 Sending: sportnet.tic (807 bytes)
    Mar 22 22:04:43 S: FILE sportnet.tic 807 1521756260 0
    Mar 22 22:04:43 C: GOT sportnet.tic 807 1521756260
    Mar 22 22:04:43 Sending: sportnet.zip (1,825,671 bytes)
    Mar 22 22:04:43 S: FILE sportnet.zip 1825671 1521756258 0
    Mar 22 22:04:48 C: GOT sportnet.zip 1825671 1521756258
    Mar 22 22:04:48 Sending: sportnet.txt (21,264 bytes)
    Mar 22 22:04:48 S: FILE sportnet.txt 21264 1521756230 0
    Mar 22 22:04:48 C: GOT sportnet.txt 21264 1521756230

If I'm looking at this correctly, my system sent 4 files, but only 2 .TIC files. The other 2 .TIC files would have both been named sportnet.tic, which would have been a conflict with the sportnet.tic that already existed in the filebox.

Is there a way to rename a .TIC file, if it already exists in the directory? Possibly, it could be changed to sportnet1.tic, sportnet2.tic, etc.

I know you don't have much time to work on Mystic at the moment, but maybe
you could add this to your TODO list. :)

    Thanks,

I'll have to determine what its supposed to do in this situation first because I don't know that the file will be properly processed as it flows through if the .tic doesn't match the filename.

I wonder what AllFix would do in this situation, for example.

I know when the files come in to the system here, from HTick, they have names like, 2bhbdjfa.tic, 2bhgdjga.tic, etc. TIC files from BinkIt have names such
as ti_003jh.tic, ti_003jd.tic, etc. I'm not sure the name of the .TIC files really matters, as long as the information inside them is accurate.

    Hope this helps...

When I used Allfix with mystic and other bbs packages it created random tic names, then copied them to their fileboxes... this is an old badtics.log
