• outbound echomail troubleshooting

From nristen@21:1/101 to All on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 08:05:04
I just installed Mystic on a new raspberry pi (the old one crashed). I did a fresh install and did not use any of the backup configs from the previous BBS.

I am currently receiving echomail from both fsxnet and fidonet however I
can't get outbound echomail to work. (This is why I am sending from Avon's
BBS instead of my own). I have gone through the wiki and Youtube videos but
I must still be missing something.

The following is the troubleshooting that I have tried so far:
    0. turned off events
    1. send echomail
    2. semaphore/echomail.out exists
    3. ran ./mutil mailout.ini which showed "Exporting Echomail (1 echo)
    4. semaphore/echomail.out gone
    5. mailout.log (Adding PKT - Packet already in FLO)
    6. ./fidopoll send (nothing)
    7. fidopoll log never shows anything being sent
    8. /echomail/out/fidonet contains 1 file which contains the
    following:
    ^/mystic/echomail/out/fidonet/0000003d.mo0 ^/mystic/echomail/out/fidonet/0000003d.mo1 ^/mystic/echomail/out/fidonet/0000003d.th0 ^/mystic/echomail/out/fidonet/0000003d.fr0 ^/mystic/echomail/out/fidonet/0000003d.fr1 ^/mystic/echomail/out/fidonet/0000003d.fr2

I would appreciate any insights or direction to further information on troubleshooting this problem.

Check you have zip installed on your Pi.

    I expect it's missing.

Just logged into Agency BBS and confirmed the send was successful!

Thank you very much - I suspect that this is the problem I was having with outbound netmail as well.

Yes it will also be the case :)

g00r00 I think it would be good if the RPi mystic somehow
flagged that ZIP and UNZIP were missing, perhaps something in the MUTIL logging? Else new users do easily miss this and it looks on the face of it
    that there's nothing amiss.

I had the same problem with RAR on a Linux PC. Some Linux distros vary in what their default apps are it seems.
