• running batch files with DD

Win10, A38 - I'm running a batch file with the DD command (Exec Exteral Program). I would have expected that it would open a command prompt window
and execute the commands in the batch file, but it's running somewhere sight unseen. This would be okay if everything was going right, but the batch file does part of what it should do, I can see that because I'm having it create a file. But then somewhere thereafter if it hangs, such as anything that would expect input, it's like it's hung up and I can't interact with it while I'm working on figuring out where all the bugs are. I'm testing with a telnet program, which makes it worse because it has locked out the BBS side till the batch finishes, but the batch can't finish because it's hung. A big ole catch 22.

Even if I force a disconnect, it never closes out of what it's doing, so a subsequent attempt to connect ends in an endless attempt to connect, but
fails unless I either reboot or logoff so it shuts everything running down.

Is there a way to force visible so I can see what's going on? I tried executing the same batch file by calling CMD.EXE mybatch.bat instead of
direct to the batch file, but that didn't open anything at all and still got hung up. So not sure where else to go with it.

I'll keep fighting to find the bug blind, but man, it should helps to be able to see what your system is doing.

Win10, A38. This is my system, not Chuck's system.
