• Busy node

    From Datalus@21:4/120 to G00r00 on Friday, March 09, 2018 15:31:05
    Id like to make a suggestion why cant we have a node just for sending
    echomail and Netmail so the network will stay available for importing and exporting file import export. Like we had in wildcat so we don't have have it wait to do its thing because someone is on line. I thought the ini file was check but it still holding or busy!

    Well you can set things so Mystic will export messages within 60 secs of someone posting and not need them logged out first, so I suspect that's what you wanted to do but perhaps not set up?

    Yes, that's a simple tweak. :)

    BBS Nodes do not send or receive echomail at all, so that is why there is no node for that. Echomail is instant, if you want it to be to instant.

    If I am understanding you right, it sounds like you want to change a
    setting in your mutil .ini file that tosses echomail to false (as shown
    below).

    By default, Mystic will wait until a user logs off before it will send any messages they posted. This gives them the ability to edit their message
    before it sends, since it will not send until they log off.

    You can disable this though in the .ini file:

    [ExportEchoMail]

    ; Do not export messages from users currently online

    skip_online = false

    I have the setting in mutil set to false. but it seems to hang up in limbo. I have to manually do a Mutil in a dos prompt to get it out. If I type a Mutil export.ini I get a fatal shutdown runtime error(1) Result:No processes configured. I have been threw my setting and ini files at least 15 times and have found nothing wrong. I'm new to mystic so I'm learning the system and others have help me with other issues. thxs Datalus

    Hello g00r00,

    skip_online = false

    this is neat feature, indeed. I'm hanging all the time and this will simplify my life and discard the need to log-off after each message.

    Thanks

    Well it is telling you the error. Can you show us your INI file (export.ini)
