• IP Banning?

From Jeff Smith@21:1/128 to All on Thursday, March 01, 2018 18:09:41

    Hello everybody!

I am in the process of checking out the webserver in the A39 release of Mystic. To test it I have setup the webserver to provide the Mystic BBS files.

In doing so I see that I can access Mystic from any of the PC's here. Which should
be assured since all the local static IP's are in the Whitelist file. I also was able
to access Mystic from my cell phone once. But the cell phone was banned the second time
a connection was attempted. I checked and IP banning is turned off for the HTTP

    server
as well as country blocking. What else might be causing the HTTP server to be banning
IP's. In the MIS log I see the following when I try to connect:

    + 2018.03.01 17:26:42 HTTP 1-Blocked connection
    + 2018.03.01 17:26:42 HTTP 1-Blocked connection
    + 2018.03.01 17:26:47 HTTP 1-Blocked connection
    + 2018.03.01 17:26:50 HTTP 1-Blocked connection
    + 2018.03.01 17:26:50 HTTP 1-Blocked connection

Are the IP addresses that were banned still listed in the blacklist.txt ?
Did you close and restart MIS after turning off the autoban, country block settings you mentioned?

    Hello Avon!

02 Mar 18 16:21, you wrote to me:

I'm thinking the IP must still be listed. I removed the last 20 IP's from
the blacklist file as seeing what celluler IP the phone is using isn't
shown on the phone. it was odd that Mystic allowed the first connection but blocked the second. I looked to see if Mystic listed the actual IP that
it was blocking but all I seen was that the connection was blocked.

Yup, Restarted MIS several times in fact.
