• Bad message files

From Phantom Nomad@21:2/143 to All on Thursday, February 22, 2018 10:09:41
So I had to leave my BBS on auto for almost a month. When I came back today
I noticed it hadn't tossed any new mail for a long time. Seems it was collecting it all and storing it in the echomail/in/ directory like it
should. I had to fix a couple of things and once I got that working I
manually tossed the mail. It churned away for about 5 minutes. When I
looked at the mutil log it was full of "Invalid PKT Password" errors.

Now the question. Does Mystic save these files anywhere or does it just
delete them? I would really like to have them moved to a bad directory where
I can figure out the problem then move them back into the IN dir and re toss them.

Sorry for being away for so long.
    Thanks
    Stephen

    Welcome back :)

It will only hold bad files that fail to toss because of issues with .TIC, so yep, unless you took a backup of the echomail\in then they're gone burgers..

    Deletes them...

Ahh crap. Wish it didn't do this or at least tell me what node the packet
was from in the logs so I can fix it. I guess i have to do some dumpster diving through the logs to see if I can figure out which one it is.

    Thanks.

It's similar feedback I'm fairly sure I have passed to g00r00 for consideration. I think that it would be good for failed packets to eb dropped in to a BAD directory also. Hopefully in future updates of Mystic we will see this :)
