• Fidopoll forced

    From solaris@21:1/102 to g00r00 on Monday, January 15, 2018 09:21:24
    Greetz -

Is there a way to have forced fidopoll hold off on processing mail until all nodes are polled and the mail/files have landed. Not sure if you remember but you fixed my polling issues a while back due to the number of nets I carry
    (22) plus two odd duck ones.
I ask because if I run a forced poll and and get to say net number 9 and I
get a bunch of mail of some files mystic processes them before the poll is
    done and BSY's out .

I am rebuilding my Board from a fresh a38 and should be much leaner /cleaner
I noticed that the default set up in the events shows using forced poll and would rather use it rather than building 22 lines of events , it gets kinda tricky on an hourly poll ( about 3 min apart ) .
Any who as all ways thanks for all your hard work . stay warm

    -Todd

On 01/15/18, solaris said the following...

What I do here, as I also carry many networks, is use a script file to poll them. That way, I just have an hourly event to call that script file.

    mailpoll.sh
    ./mutil mailout
    ./fidopoll 21:1/100
    ./fidopoll 21:1/10
    snip<=-
    ./fidopoll 3:770/1
    ./mailin.sh
    ./qwkpoll all

I'm not sure if that will help the issue your having with the mail being
tossed while still polling or not...

This isn't very clear to me as Mystic doesn't process anything and fidopoll doesn't process mail either.

Are you saying that MUTIL runs and then refuses to do anything because Fidopoll is still transferring files?

Thats correct , When performing a fidopoll forced it will stop with a bsy
error because mutil started to process mail / files before it finishes
polling all nodes . gave ya some logs ... thanks

Okay I think I am understanding now, thank you. I'll work on some ideas to help improve this situation.
