I thought I'd post this here, rather than to Paul directly, I'm not sure
if it's just working as intended or what...

I was away for 3-4 weeks over the holidays, and when I got back there was
a whole heap of messages waiting for me on hold (as I expected) however
it seems that each day since I've been back there's been a burst of
further messages at 9pm my time (which i guess is midnight Paul's time).

These messages don't appear to be dupes, and as far as I can tell, it's
just 'catching up' for what I missed. However in between the midnight
bursts, I get traffic as usual.

I would have thought all the old messages would have been sent in one go
when I first connected when I came back?

I think it should have 'caught up' now, but I just thought I'd mention
this as it seems a bit odd to me.
