  • mis error capture

    so i got to get the error mis is giving me when it crashes.

    This sounds like a corrupted file on your disk. Until I can get a pre-alpha ready with debugging on its going to be difficult to diagnose.

    You could put the last A37 pre-alpha up if you still have it, since it should give us more detailed information so we can determine where the problem occurs.

    sadly i never did a37 i upgraded to a36 -> a38 my system just turned off on meand when i did a restore mis started doing this. :(

    Did you restore some A36 data files with a A38 Mystic.dat? That would be bad as the formats changed.

    i did a local login and it said it had A19 data so i ran upgrade and its still doing it and there are other bugs. i can turn off bases in new scan. it wont turn it on or off. when i did restore i was doing windows repair and did a restore that way. when my system shut off only mis was loaded.

    Unless I am confused you said your data file levels were A19, but if you were on A38 thats not really possible unless you touched files in the DATA directory.

    If you then upgrade.exe when you have say an A19 mystic.dat and some other A38 data files, then that could corrupt your data files further. But it could just be corruption because your disk was corrupted.

    Are you able to open the various configurations in Mystic -cfg? For example, the message base editor, the theme editor, file base editor? You might be able to figure out what is corrupt by doing that.

    on a sdd? when i ran the upgrade it said a19 to a38 but the board was working fine until the computer just shut down and i did the windows repair and then thats when i got it back up it did the rt 6 so i upgraded on the 2nd so im gonna copy the back up from before i upgrade and redo it over.

    If you have A36 .scn files that could be a problem. You may have to delete *.SCN from your msgs and data folders.

    this has happened after the crash so what im going to do because mis crashes
    on binkp etc bring my a36 backup before i upgraded to a38 and start over the upgrade and then copy the the latest message bases over and the user.dat,,

    I have this same issue but when I run upgrade from A38 this is the output, might be me but the versions seem a lil wonky.

    I removed the scn files and still have the same issue when it re-created
    them. Will try a few other items but never checked this until I saw this
    post.
